Ebay item 5/24/06 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-4-2-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-Series-II ...
Opening bid $25,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 9 days in auction. 73k miles.
Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar E Type Roadster finished in British Racing Green with tan vinyl top and tan interior. The runs and drives excellent, engine runs strong with no knocking, smoking, etc. and with excellent oil pressure. Only 100 miles covered since recent 9k spent on repairs that include, front and rear suspension rebuild, steering column, and rack overhaul, 4 wheel alignment. All cooling & heater hoses were replace, radiator was cleaned, flushed, pressure tested and refinished. Carburetors were overhauled, engine was completely tuned, throttles were synched, timing set etc. All fluid were replaced including brake fluid, brake & clutch system and bled are to list a few of the things done. The car really does run excellent and feels very tight and tracks straight as an arrow. The car was repainted with 2 stage paint (i.e. base coat clear coat) and shows very well, it appears the car was disassembled to an extent when it was refnished as the under side of the bonnet, trunk lid, door jams have all been refinished and assembled with new hardware i.e. bolts, washers, etc. (I cannot confirm when or where this was done) There is a small ding on pass. side door. The front and rear bumpers do have pitting however polish up O.K.. The interior and top were also redone at some point, the driver seat has aproximately 4 small nicks on the back rest (no rips or tears) Both seats are slightly worn on the back side from where they rubbed against the conv. top when down. Door panels are excellent as is most of the vinyl is in the car, The dash is in very good shape, with no sun damage or cracks, the visors are also in nice shape with no discoloration (inner foam is solid, not disintegrated as they usually are) The center shifter console also has some holes in it where a bracket or something was installed at one point. The carpeting is in fair shape, convertible top is in good shape with no rips or tears and good back window (not foggy) however the top shows some color fade from the sun. Glass is excellent with no cracks, scratches etc. The car is also fitted with the factory A/C unit which does not work. Other than the A/C not working all other amnemities work, all electrical items, lights, washers, wipers, gauge lights, ignition charging light indicator dip beam indicator, all gauges, etc. Aside from some of the cosmetic issues, the car is truely in excellent and proper mechanical order and drives really well, the recent mechanical work done was sorted by specialist shop and the work performed was done in the original manner, i.e. no "improvements"
