Ebay item 6/13/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-roadster-E-Type-Roadster_W0QQitemZ46488163 ...
Current bid $17,100 reserve not met, 8 bids, 2 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Beautiful jag roadster. Very low miles, nice original 1969 jag top, original interior, original redlines. Run's drives, and feels like 43,000 miles. The car was originally pale primrose - original owner repainted it. After he passed, his son sold the car to a well known car dealer who kept it garaged for his wife. I bought it to keep, but I have a 150, an E coupe and a 120 - so one must go. If it does not make reserve I will list one of the others until one goes. The exhaust is original mild steel and sounds glorious compared to the popular stainless replacements everyone is using (there really is a difference). The exhaust clamps are non - jag but are better replacements as supplied by xk's in california. The seats are perfect and unmarked, the carpet mats are new from xk's, the original are included and not bad. The alternator and controller are new and the charging system is fantastic. The radiator has been rebuilt, all hoses are the new type xk's unlimited replacements. Full size spare, jack, and hammer. Period phillips radio. Always garaged, rarely driven and well loved. NADA classic lists this car at low - $27.3k, average $40.5k, high $62k. This car appraised over $50k, however my reserve is much lower.
The tires are starting to weather check, the spinners have some marks and could be plated, the body rubber is starting to perish (around doors, bonnet, rear bumper). The car has some chips on the nose and one blemish on the bonnet. It has a .3 inch scratch on the right rear wing. One nut on the hood (top) is not chrome as is should be (above driver). No carpet in the boot. One chrome speaker nut is of the incorrect type. The bumper chrome is not perfect. The armrest leather is shrinking from age. The original carbs are in great shape, but are due for the factory recomended service at this mileage. A good local carb shop is doing them this week.
This one is jewel like and pretty.

Sellers description:
DESERT AUTOSPORT IS VERY PLEASED TO BRING TO THE MARKETPLACE THIS 1969 JAGUAR E TYPE XKE SERIES 2 CONVERTIBLE. THIS JAG IS FINSIHED IN BRILLIANT SILVER AND COMPLIMENTED WITH A BLACK INTERIOR AND A BLACK CONVERTIBLE TOP. IT IS A VERY SOLID ORIGINAL CAR THAT HAS UNDERGONE A RESTORATION AT SOME POINT IN THE PAST. THE BODY AND PAINT ARE STUNNING AND LASER STRAIGHT. THE PAINT LOOKS GREAT FROM EVERY ANGLE AND THE FIT AND FINISH OF THE BODY PANELS COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER. THE ORIGINAL WIRE WHEELS LOOK GREAT AND ARE WRAPPED IN NEAR NEW TIRES ALL AROUND. THE INTERIOR LOOKS MOSTLY ORIGINAL AND STILL INVERY NICE SHAPE. ALL THE GAUGES WORK, THE RADIO SOUNDS GREAT AND EVERYTHING WE TRIED WORKS WELL. MECHANICALLY THIS CAR REALLY SHINES AND IS NOTHING LESS THEN A PLEASURE TO DRIVE. THE 4.2 LITER INLINE 6 CYLINDER FIRES RIGHT UP AND RUNS LIKE A SEWING MACHINE. IT HAS A SERIES ONE TRIPLE SU CARBURATOR CONVERSION. IT PULLS STRONG FROM IDLE TO REDLINE AND SHIFTS THROUGH ALL THE GEARS INCLUDING REVERSE SMOOTHLY EVERYTIME. I DROVE THIS CAR AROUND IN 110 DEGREE TEMPERATURE AND IT NEVER RAN HOT. THE ELECTRIC FANS DO A GREAT JOB OF KEEPING THE TEMPERATURE WHERE IT SHOULD BE. JUST TO BE SAFE IN THE HEAT WE FILLED UP THE GAS TANK WITH 111 OCTANE LEADED RACE FUEL AND IT REALLY RESPONDED WELL, BUT IS FINE TO DRIVE ON PUMP GAS. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS LIKE NEW AND THE TOP MECHANISM OPENS AND CLOSES EASILY. THIS JAGUAR REALLY ONLY NEEDS SOME MINOR DETAIL WORK TO BRING IT FROM A SHOW/DRIVER TO MORE OF A FULL SHOW CAR. THE TRUNK LOOKS MOSTLY ORIGINAL AND HAS THE SPARE WHEEL, JACK AND DEADBLOW HAMMER FOR THE KNOCK-OFF WHEELS. UNDER THE HOOD IS CLEAN AND PRESENTABLE AND NEEDS NOTHING BUT A LITTLE ELBOW GREASE TO BRING IT UP TO FULL SHOW STANDARDS. THE ONLY REAL BLEM WORTH MENTIONING ON THE CAR IS A SMALL STONE CHIP IN THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE CHROME ON THE BUMPERS HAS SOME MINOR THIN SPOTS IN THE FINISH.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Convertible. This car doesn't just turn heads, she breaks necks! Stunning Silver, black leather interior, & a fresh black soft top. (The single paint job performed on this car was professionally-done & replaced the original yellow exterior with the current silver color.) All carbs have been rebuilt & she runs like a dream...smooth as silk!
This XKE is an excellent driver, has been maintained and lovingly cared for throughout the years, with the interior & leather still in very good condition, but never given a full restoration. 48K miles showing on the odometer. Looks very good underneath, & has always been garage-kept. This show-stopper is road-ready & priced right!
