An exceptional second-series example
Attractive red with biscuit interior
This stunning red 1969 roadster was formally part of the Ray Skillman collection, where it recently received a complete concours-quality restoration. Every component of this classic E-Type has been rebuilt and highly detailed. The fit and finish of the body panels, interior pieces, and under-bonnet detailing show the careful attention paid to every aspect of this Jaguar. The current owner reports this E-Type roadster has been driven less than 3,000 miles since the restoration was completed and is now properly sorted and a pleasure to drive.

This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster which was refurbished in red over a tan leather interior before being acquired three years ago by the seller, reportedly from the collection of Ray Skillman. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six featuring dual Stromberg carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Brake updates were made in October 2019. This XKE is offered in Maryland with a Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC. This example was repainted during a refurbishment under previous ownership.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are mounted with wingless center lugs and fitted with 185-section Dunlop SP Sport tires. The tan convertible top and plastic rear window.
The cabin is upholstered in replacement tan leather with matching carpets and equipped with a wood steering wheel and shift knob as well as Series II rocker switches and a Philips AM/FM radio with dual speakers.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a quartet of auxiliary gauges in the center of the dash. The seller reports that the odometer was reset during restoration, and just under 2,900 miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 1k of which were added by the current owner.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six was equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors for the North American market and was factory rated at 246 horsepower with 263 lb-ft of torque. Cooling is from an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
The braking system was updated by Bernardo Donde of Brazilian Cars Inc. in October 2019, including aluminum front calipers. An operating manual, a jack, and knock-off tools are included in the sale along with a spare tire and top boot.
