Ebay item 4/23/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Jaguar-E-Type-1968-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-XKE-2-2-COUPE/37265744418 ...

Car has a buy it now price of $34,900 for 29 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, car now said to be in Santa Ana, California, 94k miles.

Seller's description:

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this nice Jaguar E-type that runs and drives very well. This car was just purchased from it's older owner from the East Coast who modestly restored the car both cosmetically and mechanically over a period of a few years. It's great fun for the money and still has that exciting Series One look and appeal about it, with it's smaller bonnet opening and rear taillights/sidelights above the bumper blades.

The body on this car is very good with nice fitting panels and no evidence of any rust anywhere. Paintwork is a modest job applied on a straight body, with a nice shine to it. There are a few chips on some panel edges here and there showing some light use. Chromework is decent along with good glass.

The car's interior is very clean and presentable, being nicely finished. It hasn't been trimmed with an expensive kit with all the proper materials. It's a very nice and approachable cabin with vinyl seats, a comfortable interior overall, one that can be used and enjoyed and still looks very nice to bystanders. It looks sharp in black.

The car's matching numbers engine starts easily on the key with the choke lever raised, and runs smoothly with good oil pressure, no smoke or noises, having every symptom of a healthy unit. The gearbox shifts fine at speed, but engages a bit hard at idle, maybe due to lack of use or could use it's bands adjusting ? The car goes down the road nicely without a fuss. Brakes could use some minor attention as the pedal pressure seems a little high to stop the car. They could just need some use, which cures lots of issues on these old cars...

Overall, an attractive 2+2 Coupe with comfortable seats, lots of legroom and headroom, and nice big doors. This car has a great solid body, nice cosmetics and very good mechanicals. It could be driven easily as is, or would benefit from some light improvements going forward. It's currently very good value in the market for a nice usable E-type ready for Spring/Summer.

Imported into the United Kingdom from the United States and sold by Fayreoak Classics of Cheltenham in November 2019. Seller's description below.
www.fayreoak.com/autos/1969-jaguar-e-type-series-1-5/

E Type Series 1.5 4.2 Automatic 2+2. California car all its life. Last long term owner restored the car some years ago with new paint, interior, front and rear suspension. The car presents very well with no rust. The bumpers have been painted black, they can be replaced or re-chromed. The rear seat has been removed and trimmed in a solid panel, this can easily be put back. Drives very well with good oil pressure, no smoke or rattles on start up. Overall a very usable E Type.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
