Sellers description:
Vin#35468 Miles:54,407 Due to cars age we can not certify this mileage as being original. This is a 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 fixed head coupe, not a 2+2. This car is a very nice driver-quality restoration. It has undergone much recent mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment. There are many thousands of dollars in receipts for work done and parts used. Cosmetics: The body was recently stripped inside and out, and painted in period-correct Jaguar white (cream). The car was originally painted Ascot Fawn with beige interior. All glass and chrome was removed, as well as the interior trim. The car has solid rust-free floors and rockers, and there is no evidence of any rust problems. The paint, while not show-quality is very presentable, with excellent gloss and a few minor flaws. Bumpers are near-new, with excellent chrome. The car has a complete new rubber kit (including bumpers and mud-shields), new correct black leather seats, new correct carpets, new sill and luggage area upholstery, new dash-top and door panels, and new seat belts. The headliner is new, and visors are in very good condition. All instruments are in good working order except the clock. Mechanically the following are new or rebuilt within the last 2 years: Cylinder head rebuilt (compression is 135-150-150-145-150-140) Carburetors rebuilt New aluminum radiator and HD fan New upper and lower ball joints and boots New front wheel bearings New suspension bushings and tie-rod ends Rebuilt alternator Rebuilt steering rack Brake system (complete rebuild) New clutch slave cylinder New exhaust system New rear suspension mounts Four-wheel alignment New handbrake and speedo cable Four new spinner-type knockoffs This car has matching engine and gearbox numbers, as well as the heritage certificate. It gets thumbs-up wherever it goes. The car runs, steers, handles, and brakes very well. It tracks straight. The ride is tight and smooth. There are no significant oil leaks.
