Opening bid $25,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $46,500. Car now said to be in Wichita, Kansas. 102k miles.

Sellers description:
Partially reconditioned at some time. Car spent most of its life in Arizona in an arid climate. Original matching #s car which starts, drives and looks stunning. I bought the car in August from a small broker in Fla. and drove the car back to Kansas,1,404 miles with the factory air on and working well! Car does not smoke on start up in hot or cold weather it fires on the first kick. I think the car is too nice to restore. Paint is pale primrose yellow which shines beautifully. It was probably re-painted in different areas just guessing in the 1980's. Originial floor pans, no rust or rust repair ever exempt a small bubble which is in front of the driver's back tire on the body (not visable) unless you study the car on a lift. Interior is great and has probably been reconditioned at some time. Engine bay is extremely clean and free of oil and grease. Just put a new air filter, and new front shocks and poly-urethane bushings on the sway bar in front and have the rest of the poly u kit pictured along with new rotors front and rear and brake pads for car. Under the car is clean and oil and grease free as shown in the pics. Under flouresent light some orange peeling can be seen in the paint in places but in the sun it shines like new. The 4.2 liter engine pulls extremely hard! and does not puff a bit of smoke leading me to believe of a somewhat recent reconditioning. I turned the car over 100k miles somewhere in Mississippi cruising back from Fla. This series 1.5 is about a fine, dependable of a FHC you will find. I am so proud of this car I would encourage flying in and inspecting personally and driving. Selling because of new prospective business opp. In the drive back from Fla. car did not use one drop of oil. Thanks for looking. Also, please do not inquire about receipts for engine build, paint, interior work etc... only because I don't have any. Original wires on car are in excellent shape, I have added the knockoffs, and brand new tires with less than 200 miles on them. The outdoor pics of the car are the ones before I left Fla.

Listed for sale at Drivers Source Fine Motorcars in Houston Texas(www.driversource.com). " Built on October 31, 1967, 1E34865 was dispatched on November, 30 1967 through Jaguar Cars New York wearing Pale Primrose paint over black leather upholstery. The car was purchased new by Mr. Perry of Santa Monica California from nearby Brentwood Motors(the Heritage Certificate lists National Auto Glass of Santa Monica as the first owner). This particular model is unofficially know as the Series 1.5, a transitional series between 1 and 2 with physical attributes of each, while internally classified as a Series 1. According to accompanying records, the car remained in Southern California until 1974 and then relocated to Phoenix, AZ. In 1989, it was purchased by a gentleman in Virgina Beach, VA and has since resided on the east coast. Its most recent restoration was commissioned in the summer of 2009, carried out by Lindley Restorations of Pottstown, PA. The process took roughly a year to complete, followed by engine and mechanical improvements from BPC Motor Works of Hilton Head, SC from 2011-2013. All work is documented and photographed with a total investment of over $60,000. Acquired from enthusiast ownership, this desirable coupe comes beautifully presented and ready to enjoy wearing a striking combination of its original Primrose Yellow over black leather upholstery. The Jaguar has been enjoyed extensively since its freshening and today makes the ideal high-end driver or local show candidate. The choice paint work presents well as do the cabin's leather appointments. Polished trim, brightwork and chrome complete the presentation. Nicely detailed and numbers matching, the coupe would be a credit to any collection. Offered with very important original owners' manual in pouch along with maintenance voucher booklet, manufacturer's warranty certificate, restoration photos, records and a dossier of early registrations and paper work - all original to the vehicle." Asking $78,500 or offer.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
