The engine number shown for this car is vastly out of sequence so Im guessing it is not the correct original motor.

1967 E-type Coupe. chassis 34134, primrose yellow, open headlights. Car was built Jan. 67. Is this Series 1 or 1.5 and are open headlights original?

Based on my previous ownership of 1E34136 which I obtained from the original owner in 1979/1980, I believe the open headlights were original for this car. When I got 1E34136 it was a true Series I car in every way except for the open headlights which the original owner confirmed to me as being original. I subsequently had the the car changed to covered headlights.

I am owner of car 1E34134 since july 1997. Engine number is 7E 11927-9. Jaguar Daimler Trust confirmed matching numbers date of manuf. 12-1-1967, date of despatch 7-2-1967 to New York. Have original Bill of Sale from 8-4-67 (april or august?). Per P. Skilleter chassirnr. should be with closed headlights, but headlightsw are open and I always questioned if this was original. 1E34136 story from Bill seems to confirm this.

New JCNA judging guide for Series 1.5 cars shows headlight covers deleted from coupes in January 1967 at car number 34113 per factory build records or 34120 per spares bulletin. Would appear that this is an example of an early open headlight car.

Car 1E34136 has engine number 7E 11925-9 and my car 1E34134 has engine 7E 11927-9 and this is not out of range

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
