Jaguar Series I E-Type Coupe 265 bhp, 3,781 cc overhead twin cam inline six-cylinder engine, four speed all syncro gear box, full independent suspension and four wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 96" Chassis No. 1E31246 Sensation of the 1961 Geneva Automotive Show. A production sports car that could break that magic 150 mph barrier and a design that was to be selected by the New York Museum of Modern History as the "Worlds" most beautiful automobile. With full independent suspension, disc brakes on all four wheels, it represented a milestone in the development of the modern sports car and was the evolution of Jaguar's LeMans winning D-type. There is something odd about this car. If its a '66 then it would have had a 4.2L motor and it has a 4.2L intake manifold. It is missing the 4.2L emblem on the rear hatch. In any case without a JDHT certificate stating so I can't accept it as a matching numbers car if it has a 3.8 in it.
