    Car found for sale at:
    www.bramclassauto.com/showvehicle.php

    Sellers description:
FOR SALE: 1966 JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES 1. Jaguar Series I E-Type Coupe 265 bhp, 3,781 cc overhead twin cam inline six-cylinder engine, four speed all syncro gear box, full independent suspension and four wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 96" Chassis No. 1E31246 Sensation of the 1961 Geneva Automotive Show. A production sports car that could break that magic 150 mph barrier and a design that was to be selected by the New York Museum of Modern History as the "Worlds" most beautiful automobile. With full independent suspension, disc brakes on all four wheels, it represented a milestone in the development of the modern sports car and was the evolution of Jaguar's LeMans winning D-type. This fine car represents the personal road going car of 4 time winner of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, Andrew Moore. Wins were achieved in his infamous Red # 60 "Red Mist", a similar E-Type 3.8 litre coupe of 1962 vintage. Less than one thousand miles following a full frame up restoration with complete engine, gear box and rear end rebuild. Testing and set up insure a fully sorted, reliable and compliant vehicle for your driving enjoyment. This particular example represents a transitional stage for the Series I with its "Bullet Proof" 3.8 Litre 265 HP Engine and a factory installed, silky smooth, all synchro gear box common to the later Series II. This came to be known as the Series I 1/2. Finished in factory Red and with a totally fresh "Black Hide" interior this superb vehicle is ready to be enjoyed as a work of art, displayed at Concours events or driven on the open road to its full potential.

There is something odd about this car. If its a '66 then it would have had a 4.2L motor and it has a 4.2L intake manifold. It is missing the 4.2L emblem on the rear hatch. In any case without a JDHT certificate stating so I can't accept it as a matching numbers car if it has a 3.8 in it.

The missing "4.2" badge is a mystery, but I definitely see a 4.2-liter's intake manifold. I'll go out on a limb here and say the "3.8 liter" thing is a typo.

    1966 Jaguar Series I E-Type Coupe
    High Bid of $23,000
    Chassis no. 1E31246

The car offered here is the personal road going car of four time winner of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, Mr. Andrew Moore. The wins were achieved in his infamous red number 60 "red mist" 3.8 liter E-Type racing coupe, similar to his personal car offered here.

This particular Jaguar shows less than 1000 miles on the odometer following a full frame-up restoration that included a complete engine, gearbox and rear end rebuild. Proper testing and set up was executed to insure a fully sorted, reliable and compliant vehicle for true driving enjoyment.

Finished in factory red and with a totally fresh black hide interior this superb vehicle is ready to be enjoyed as a work of art, displayed at concours events or driven on the open road to its full potential.
