The car’s Heritage Certificate tells us this E-Type was manufactured on 6 July 1967, before being dispatched to distributors Henly’s of London later in the month and finally registered in February 1968.

The chassis number identifies it as chassis #6 of the so-called S1. 5s and makes it a very interesting and rare car indeed as it has an identical spec to the S1, with enclosed headlights, toggle switches and polished cam covers. The Heritage certificate describes it as a Series 1 so whether it is actually one of the very last S1 E-Types is a point you can discuss with E-Type Club Members at your leisure.

The car has extensive history back to the mid seventies, with only 4 former keepers and still has its original colour combination of opalescent silver blue paintwork and dark blue trim. All numbers match and it is a genuine UK rhd car in very good running order. A wad of MOT certificates support the current mileage.

The car has had extensive restoration work done between 2014 and 2018 before and during my ownership with substantial supporting invoices, but will require some further tidying to bring up to the highest standard and is priced accordingly.

All rusty panels were removed and replaced, the engine was removed and checked, the braking system was renewed and upgraded to Coopercraft, suspension was replaced where necessary including torsion bars and radius arms and the car received new wiring looms.

Cosmetically the car was resprayed, chrome replaced or rechromed where necessary and interior trim replaced or refreshed where necessary. Much of the interior is original, including seats, rear deck and head lining and is in super, patinaed condition.

The bad points are that the paintwork has micro-blistered on the bonnet, wings and rear tailgate and will need attention and the chrome on the rechromed rear bumpers is lifting.

The car has just had fresh oil and coolant, a carb tune up and a new header tank and is ready to go. It is priced to sell and the private plate is included at asking price.
