1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe

Estimate: £45,000 - £55,000

Registration No:ETJ695F

We are indebted to the Vendor for the following information:

Mechanics

Engine: Overhauled in the 1980's. Tappet clearances, compression ratio and vacuum all checked in recent years and found to be within specification.

Cooling system: all pipes replaced with carbon fibre based pipes. Water pump overhauled and recently new fan motor fitted.

Fuel and ignition: Solid pipes replaced by copper pipes, carburettors overhauled, ignition components replaced as necessary.

Gearbox: no evidence that it has ever been opened.

Differential; untouched since new.

Brakes: all hydraulic actuators have been refurbished in the past 10 years. All original pipes replaced by copper pipes. New front discs.

Clutch: replaced in 2000 and actuators refurbished. Copper pipes fitted.

Rolling: Wheels (chrome plated, wavy hub and tubeless tyres), stub axles and wheel bearings all replace in last 10 years due to worn out splines.

Exhaust system: replaced with stainless steel system in early 2000's

Body: Through bulkhead pipes replaced. Bumpers re-chromed to a high standard. Inners and outer sills and floor all professionally repaired in early 2000's. Complete respray in 2013.

Everything works except the clock.

Usage

It has been regularly driven to Jaguar Enthusiast open days and classic car events. I have made regular trips in it to North Wales to indulge my other passion: steam locomotives.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
