Sellers description:
This is a 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series One 4.2 Litre Fixed Head Coupe. Our car is finished in the lovely colour scheme of Opalescent Silver Blue with Grey Leather Interior. We have a nice large history folder with the car and it is showing 117k Miles and 6 owners. The car has Tax and MOT and drives extremely well and is ready for the summer. This is the most desirable specification E-type S1, for the good looks, and 4.2 engine for the better interior. Our car has some lovely upgrades which make it very easy to live with.
Interior:
Our car has a lovely Grey Leather interior with a wonderful patina and is a great place to be. All the dials and instruments work as they should and there is nothing really to address. The carpets are very good and everything feels very nice. The sill leather on the drivers side is coming up a bit but the interior presents veyr well indeed.
Exterior:
Our car is finished in Silver Blue and the paintwork is professionally applied albeit some time ago. The finish is wonderful with a deep lustre although there are some minor imperfections. The chromework is all very good and complete and the glass area is all very good and also complete. There are no dings or dents and the car presents extremely well. The tyres and Wire Wheels are also good. There are a couple of tiny bubbles on the front wheelarch but the car is in a superb condition.
Mechanical:
The car starts first time and idles smoothly. The car drives extremely well with no surprises and pulls strongly in every gear. Our car has had many upgrades including a Kenlowe Fan, Coopercraft Brakes, Dunlop Comp Wire Wheels, 6 Branch Stainless Steel Exhaust, Gas Flowed Cylinder HEad, Electric Ignition, HBE Handling Kit, Spax Adjustable Shock Absorbers, etc. The gearbox is the preferable synchro type and is slick to use. There are no knocks or rattles from the suspension and the brakes work as they should. The car has been serviced yearly and was previously owned by a well known Jaguar Specialist.
Summary
This is a fantastic useable car in a great colour scheme ready to go immediately at a great price. You will see many other cars before finding one this good at this price. The drive is very good and with Tax and Mot it is ready to go this summer! Dont forget that this is a genuine UK supplied RHD car. Be quick as prices are on the up and you will not be able to find this model, in these colours, at this price for long!

Sold by J D Classics of Maldon in Spring 2017. Seller's description below. The URL is
www.jdclassics.com/showrooms/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-1-4-2-Litre-Fixed Head-Coupe/12645
Manufactured on 17 March 1965, this 4.2 litre Series 1 fixed head coupe was a UK specification, right hand drive example finished in Opalescent Silver Blue coachwork with Grey interior. Dispatched by Jaguar distributor Henlys of Manchester on 26 March 1965 with UK registration number CNC420C.
Acquired by the previous owner in April 2013 in unrestored but running and driving condition, he commissioned a comprehensive concours level restoration. The car was totally dismantled and stripped down to a bare shell and bare metalled. Great attention was made particularly to panel fit and shut lines.
The finished shell was painted in the original colour of Opalescent Silver Blue to an extremely high standard and all bright work was re-chromed. The interior was completely re-trimmed in the correct Grey leather to concours standards. The engine and gearbox were stripped and completely re-built. All components were either restored or renewed throughout the vehicle during restoration. A full stainless steel exhaust system was fitted including the manifolds, an electronic ignition, competition chrome wire wheels and DAB Bluetooth radio.
A full numbers matching and rare example of an original home market 4.2 litre Series 1 FHC freshly restored to exacting standards. Still registered with its original UK number and remained in the UK for all of its life, the restoration is fully documented with photos and invoices and has a clear ownership chain from new. Please note the car can be completed with J D Classics upgrades to the new owner's exact specifications. Sold.
