Examples of the Jaguar 'E' Type 4.2 fixed head coupe are now quite a rare sight and are becoming harder to find especially in good condition.
This particular right hand drive car has been in a private collection for many years and upon inspection it appeared to be in very good condition throughout. The recorded mileage of 70588 miles is believed to be correct from new and the black coachwork shows off the car particularly well especially with the chrome wire wheels.
The history file shows that over the last three years much work has been carried out and there are various bills including one, which shows that ú1600 was spent in 1997 for the removal of the engine and gearbox and the replacement of the clutch cover and thrust bearing.
A true rare supercar.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
