Very beautiful 1968 Jaguar OTS that had a complete ground up restoration performed by Paul Mellenger of British Automotive in Dallas TX. The car has been repainted in it's original pale primrose yellow with biscuit tan leather. The car was originally shipped to TN and I purchased it in 1988. The restoration was completed in April 1995 just in time for the Dallas Symphony Concours event. Since the restoration it has been driven only 2,873 miles. It has at all times been garaged and has never been outside in the rain or foul weather. The car is basically in the same shape that it left Coventry back in 1968 with two exceptions. During it's stay in TN, the bonnet was replaced with an earlier "headlamps under glass" model. Since I happened to really like the look of the early cars, I retained that change in the restored car. The other change was a swap from the original two Zenith Stromberg carboraters to the much better performing triple sidedraft SU's. A couple of other improvements should be pointed out, the undersize original radiator had no real hope of cooling the big inline 6 in my state of Texas so it was changed out with a special much larger racecar radiator made by Howe. It makes a very big difference in cooling the car. Also note the old 4 blade original E Type fan units were dropped in favor of the much more powerful units off a later model XJ12. They really pull a lot more air through the radiator and the water temperature is much cooler. Thank you for your interest in my classic car. This car is a matching numbers car.
Price: $145,000

The E Type offered here is a later 'Series 1.5' car and, as such, benefits from all of the refinements made to the original design. The present owner bought it in 1988 and had an extensive and complete restoration done in 1995. This Jaguar has been driven just 2,900 miles since its full restoration by noted Jaguar export Paul Mellenger. This was a comprehensive and full restoration that left nothing untouched, and today this Jaguar looks and drives just as did from the factory. This is also a numbers matching car that also had a few upgrades installed during the restoration to ensure safe and reliable performance. Cooling can sometimes be an issue with these cars and this one has been fitted with an oversized aluminum radiator and has also been upgraded with later model V-12 cooling fans. Carburetors were also upgraded to three SU side draft models mounted to a 1963 manifold for better performance. It was also upgraded with "knock-off" style rims and this Jaguar is also fitted with earlier "headlamps under glass" that was a signature feature on the earlier Series I E Type. The engine and drivetrain was completely torn down and rebuilt to like-new condition. The meticulous restoration process took over seven years to complete and the results are stunning. This Jaguar has also been properly stored since its restoration and has never seen rain. Evidence of its concours restoration is found in its beautiful interior finished in biscuit with correct factory trim components.
