Sellers comment:
1968 Jaguar XKE 6 cyl 4.2 4 speed. Solid Florida car that runs great and looks beautiful. It has been very well maintained after a complete restoration 9 years ago. This restoration included engine, drive-train, body, paint, interior, suspension and a new convertible top. (The top was replaced only 3 years ago).

It runs perfectly, shifts smoothly with synchro's working properly, it steers straight, and the brakes are firm and stop straight. The acceleration is even and powerful, the lights and gauges all work.

I have just had a tear repaired by the best upholstery shop in town and it now has nothing that needs to be done inside.

But what does it need now?

The paint and body restoration are showing its age. Although most admirers see the car as a finished car there are some parts of the body that the true car nut will notice upon close inspection.

1. The driver's door has some bubbles showing.

2. The trunk lid has a chip on the edge near the left rear corner of the lid.

3. The nose a small bubble beginning on the front center of the hood.

All these are noticeable up close but not easily detected unless you’re trying to be critical of the paint/body.

# restored about 9 years ago and driven about 13k since.
# Always garaged
# Nice car with no serious rust. a few spots showing bubbles but solid!
# Runs perfectly!
# Great electronics. Everything Works!
# Dependable¸ starts every time without choke!
# No suprises just a good old straight car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
