This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was manufactured on February 16, 1967 and distributed new in the US through Jaguar Cars of New York. The seller acquired the car in May 2022 as a disassembled project, and subsequent work included a repaint in black, a refresh of the interior, and rebuilds of the 4.2-liter inline-six and the four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes red leather upholstery, a black soft top, chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, a heater, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This Series I XKE roadster is now offered with a top boot, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment photos, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Black, the car was disassembled, stripped, mounted to a rotisserie, and repainted following the seller’s acquisition in May 2022. Exterior details include a black convertible top with a matching boot, glass headlight covers, a clamshell hood with louvers, and polished central dual exhaust outlets. Replacement glass was reportedly installed during the refurbishment.
Replacement chrome 15×6″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and are mounted with 205/70 Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The interior was originally upholstered in tan and was re-trimmed with red leather seat covers and color-coordinated carpets and door panels during current ownership. Appointments include hand-crank side windows, a cabin heater, dash-mounted toggle switches, an ashtray, a passenger-side grab handle, and red lap belts.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a black dashboard housing Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 50k miles, less than 100 of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The twin-cam 4.2L inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was rebuilt during current ownership. Work is said to have included boring the block .020″ over, re-grinding the crankshaft 0.010″ under, overhauling the cylinder head, balancing the rotating assembly, and replacing the pistons, bottom end bearings, oil pump, timing chains, fuel tank, fuel pump, and wiring harness.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, the transmission and differential were overhauled and a replacement clutch and 3.07:1 final drive gears were installed during the refurbishment.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of February 16, 1967, along with factory colors and serial numbers.
