Sellers description:
The only car that has ever been on permanent display at New York's Museum Of Modern Art . Described as one of the world's most breathtaking sports cars , the Jaguar XKE owes its basic design to a long racing heritage. Developed from extensive wind tunnel testing and racing experience , the XKE was ahead of its time with competition based 4 wheel independent suspension. Powered by the famed XK engine that sped competition cars at the grueling 24 Hour race of LeMans to 5 wins in 7 years . The series 1 XKE 4.2 closed headlight roadster is considered by many collectors to be one of the most sought after XKE's. This beautiful example has been in storage for the past 4 years. The body is very straight, paint is about 9 years old and shows well. The hood has rock chips and the odd nick here and there. The pictures show color bleed on the door lips and fender edges, this is the result of my poor quality camera , not the car. All chrome and brite work is exceptional . The Biscuit interior is clean and original with a slight "patina" on the seats. Clean dash and gauge faces. All gauges are fully operational ( including the tach) . The car drives fabulously. Very well maintained, newer exhaust, syncromesh 4 speed gearbox. The car runs through the gears nicely and has excellent power. Cruises comfortably at 100 MPH. No oil leaks, updated rad and alternator . Cooling system was just completely flushed. Tracks and brakes straight, a very "user friendly" car to drive. Undercarriage is solid with no rust issues, no evidence of past collision history. This is not a $130,000 trailer queen, just a clean , good looking , well kept sunday driver.
The car is in Canada, 60 miles from the Washington state border. I can assist in shipping out of Washington state. All paperwork included to title in any state.
