trade Sale
Mereworth, Kent, United Kingdom
This Jaguar E-Type is a beautifully restored example of the iconic classic roadster, with an eye-catching specification.
Power comes from a rebuilt 4.2-litre straight-six, coupled to a four-speed manual gearbox.
The car was built on 29 November 1965, before being dispatched from the factory on 6 December to Jaguar Cars of New York.
Originally left-hand drive, it was shipped to the UK and registered with the DVLA in 1990.
The car was comprehensively restored by a marque specialist and has also been converted to right-hand drive.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This matching-numbers E-Type Roadster is finished in its original colour scheme of Pale Primrose Yellow over black leather upholstery.
It rides on a set of 15-inch wire wheels, and features slim chrome front and rear bumpers, and chrome headlight bezels.
The cabin is equipped with a wood-rimmed steering wheel and the full complement of Smiths instrument dials.
It will be accompanied by a collection of MOT certificates and maintenance invoices, along with a photographic record of the restoration and its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
The car has only covered around 1,000 miles since being restored. The true mileage is not known, though the odometer may have gone around the clock once.
The cherished plate ‘444 JXW’ is included in the sale.
CONDITION
There has been no known bodywork damage, and there are no visible signs of corrosion.
The resprayed Pale Primrose paintwork is in very good shape, and is well documented in the photo gallery. The seller notes one small blemish on the driver’s side wheel arch about the size of a finger nail.
Its black soft top roof is generally very smart, fitting well over the frame though with some slightly loose trim over the passenger side.
Inside, the black leather seats have some light creasing, but they remain in excellent overall condition.
The switchgear controls are likely all original, and still functional as they should.
No electrical or mechanical faults have been detected.
SERVICE HISTORY
Its most recent service was at approximately 200 miles ago, where the engine oil, filter and spark plugs were replaced.
The car was fully restored at an indicated mileage of around 2,322 miles, which included an engine rebuild, fitment of a new bonnet and a right-hand drive conversion.
