Series 1 4.2 roadster finished in heritage correct Dark Blue with Dark Blue trim. A useable example with a handful of reliability upgrades that make for an easy driver packaged into a sleek and iconic body. Built in October 1965 and sold via Jaguar Cars New York, this E Type remained stateside before being sold and exported to the UK in October 1990. Purchased by Norfolk Classic Cars and described in import documents as an E Type shell. It was restored and refurbished by Alan Collins, Jaguar specialists in 2002/2003, the car required all new panels and floors, sourced from reputable remanufacturers. The roadster was completed to UK right hand drive specification and finished in correct Dark Blue with Grey interior.
In 2008 it was treated to extensive engine work by Thurston Engineering and following a sale in 2009, the purchaser started an exciting upgrade and improvement programme in 2010. The work included 5 speed gearbox, sports cooling with an aluminium radiator, ignition upgrade, uprated torsion bars, stainless steel exhaust, full SU carburettor rebuild, front suspension rebuild, refurbishment of IRS, bodywork repair and paintwork, full return to the Dark Blue trim. The car was maintained by E Type UK and was sold in 2016, having recorded 4171 miles since its 2003 restoration.
It then moved to Spain for a few years before returning to E Type in June 2022 to be prepared for sale. All faults were rectified and it is ready to hit the road again. A great opportunity to own a carefully prepared British icon.
