Current bid $17,420 reserve not met, 12 bids, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $38,900. 56k miles.

Sellers description:
This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series 1 is an excellent driver and perfect to take on rallies or just cruise the weekend away.

I have never drove an XKE before so this was a real treat for me. To start, this Jag is a great running and driving vehicle. Just flip the choke on, turn the key, hit the start button, and all 6 cylinders fire up and purr like the cat it is. The exhaust tone has that perfect English sports car note. She runs smooth. Its got a lot of power from the 4.2L engine and really scoots down the road and doesn’t miss a beat. The clutch grabs a bit high but it engages well. The gears shift real easy. The steering feels tight and the brakes are excellent. The suspension rides incredibly well. I had an expectation of the car to drive a bit tinny and light. Let me tell you, I was wrong. This XKE drives solid and confident. I was impressed!

The body looks nice. Its solid and straight with no rust showing. The panel fit looks pretty good. The hood opens and closes without trouble. The doors close solid. There is a little cracking and a couple bubbles in the paint on the underside towards the driver’s side next to the exhaust. The engine compartment is clean but not detailed. The interior has been replaced and looks great. The red with white piping is classy. The seats are comfortable. The carpet is in nice shape. The door panels also look great. There is an Alpine AM/FM/Cass in the dash for more a modern means of getting music. The convertible top was recently replaced too and looks perfect. It goes up and down with ease.

Overall, this XKE is a really nice driver and show car. It far exceeded my expectation on how well it drove. The power delivery is equal to any of our American muscle cars we have. The fun factor is off the charts. The body looks nice and the interior is beautiful. If your looking for a Series 1 XKE that you can use and enjoy, your search has ended!

Current bid $17,877.77 reserve not met, 4 bids, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $37,900.

Previous auction ended at $38,900 after 21 bids. States it ended early with "buy it now", must have failed. Same seller ID.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
