    Auction Lot: 1965 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES I 4.2 ROADSTER
Fine Historic Motor Cars and Motorcycles, H&H Classic Auctions Ltd (2005-09-21 13:00:00)
    Overview
Finished in opalescent silver grey with blue leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in very good overall condition. Said to be an "extensively refurbished / rebuilt car with full photographic and financial history", which benefits from "wider wheels, a stainless steel exhaust and immobiliser", it has apparently been "very rarely used". An original right-hand drive roadster (or so the stated chassis number would imply), it is offered for sale with cover and MOT certificate current until 30th June 2006.

This 1965 E-Type roadster's accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate states that is was manufactured as a right-hand drive, open two-seater in January 1965 and sold via Henlys to Bristol Office Machines Ltd, Bristol. The original colour scheme is listed as Opalescent Silver Grey with Dark Blue interior trim and matching hood. Fully restored between 1995 and 1999, the car was acquired by the current owner circa three years ago and has been maintained by Southern Classics. In 2001 the engine was rebuilt by Jeremy Wade at a cost of £1,700 while circa 2007 a further £2,000 was spent with John Chatham. Its last major service, including new core plugs, was carried out by Southern Classics in 2011 at a cost of £3,000. Described by the private vendor as in generally excellent condition, this beautiful E-Type roadster is offered with a quantity of expired MoT certificates, sundry restoration and service invoices, MoT to August 2012 and Swansea V5C registration document.
