Vehicle Description

For the automobile enthusiast this is indeed a most rare find. This 1974 Jaguar 5.3L Series III is all-original under one owner with only 41,840 miles. Representing the final production year for the E-type and with a sculpted steel body that belies the potent power plant, it's no small wonder that this classic of automotive engineering resides in the Museum of Modern Art - a collector's/investor's dream.

This is not the 'girly' version. The V-12 power plant delivers 272HP to a 5-speed manual gear box. No wire wheels here - rather racing strength steel wheels. If your passion is driving, then this model will be irresitible to your senses.

The 2-door open two seater body is finished in elegant gray accented by a black leather convertible top and rear deck chrome luggage rack. Biscuit leather seats and door panels are rich yet functional, while the black leather dash sets forth an informative cluster of instruments.

Naturally, an automobile such as this sports the usual amenities - power assisted steering, factory air conditioning, radio, Michelin radials. This is truly a classic wonder of art and engineering that commands the attention of all who see her!

Vehicle Condition

Purchased new in Winnipeg in 1974, the vehicle has been under single ownership throughout its life. Respected for the artful engineering it represents, this Jaguar has been the object of affectionate care - protectively garaged, attentively maintained, and driven in moderation as attested by the low original miles. As a result, everything remains in truly original condition just as it was when dispatched from the works.Changing circumstances suggest it is now time to part with this family treasure.

The automobile is in excellent mechanical condition. When recently licensed as the result of a move, the automobile was issued the Safety Standards Certificate as regulated by the Province of Ontario in September, 2001. Some interior detailing and attention to floor mats will bring the cockpit to showroom condition.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
