Ebay item 6/13/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1974-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-SIII-Roadster-with- ...
Current bid $25,000 reserve not met, 2 bids, 6 days left in auction. 61k miles.

Sellers description:
1974 E Type XKE Series III Roadster

Car #UEIS25100
Engine #7S16452 LA
Gear Box #20059
Body #4S7933

The vehicle offered in this auction is a rust-free, original body paneled, and numbers matching OTS Jaguar E Type presented in its factory Regency Red exterior and Biscuit interior color combination, with the optional factory hardtop. As a 1974 model, it is the last example of the legendary E Type Series manufactured by Jaguar for sale beginning in 1961. The current mileage of 61,503 and history have been confirmed as accurate by two of three available previous owners. I possess a clean and clear title, but personal obligations now compel me to part with it.

This automobile has been well maintained and garaged primarily as a pleasure driver during its thirty-two years and has only been driven in fair weather conditions since 1993.

In the summer of 2005, it received a professional bare metal re-spray with Glasurit paint, new body weather stripping and seals, a new Triplex tinted windshield, a full stainless steel exhaust, and a dash pad at significant expense. The panel fit and finish are excellent and the latter remains free of scratches, dings, dents, and any significant chips. All five chrome spoke wheels and the body trim are in beautiful condition.

Maintenance performed for this year’s driving season includes replacement of the transmission and radiator fluids, engine oil, transmission pan gasket, worn belts and hoses, spark plugs, ignition wires, rotor, and distributor. In addition to receipts for this work, I have documentation for the replacement of other items with original, NOS, and high quality reproduction parts from such nationally known vendors as Welsh Jaguar, SNG Barratt, and Terry’s Jaguar. More extensive repairs performed within the last seven years, and within 10,000 miles, by the previous owner’s Jaguar certified mechanic include replacement of the, rack and pinion steering, brakes, engine seals, and head gasket. The engine idles smoothly, has excellent compression and power, and does not leak fluids.

Currently, all gauges, lighting, and the clock are fully operational. Items that I am aware require attention include the turn signals which function intermittently, the windshield washer, and the radio which operates, but is missing its center console speakers.

The heritage and status of the Jaguar E Type (XKE) is well-known among enthusiasts. This is my second XKE roadster and is a very good example worthy of Jaguar Heritage Trust certification if the new owner chooses to seek this recognition.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
