Current bid $9,400.00 (Reserve not met), 2 bids, 6 days left in auction. Auto trans.

Sellers description:
1974 JAGUAR SERIES III 'E' TYPE ROADSTER

I have meticulously mantained this gorgeous southern Jaguar for the past 4 1/2 years. The car spent its' youth in either Texas w/ the previous owner or Oklahoma before that. It has a beautiful tan leather interior with no rips or tears to the seat or door panels. ALL the electronics work perfectly, and yes, even the clock works accurately! The former owner had replaced the orignal air conditioning unit w/ a nice robust new one to be comfortable in San Antonio driving. The air blows strong and cold on the hottest of days.

Service history under my ownership:
New starter, Bosch, new Die Hard battery 6/19/00 $460.

The car was treated to a full "top-end" rebuild two years ago this consisted of the following work:

1 New Water Pump
1 Trans Mount
1 drive belt set
1 Oil Sender unit
4 carb kits
12 new intake gaskets
4 intake plenum gaskets
2 air filters
Removal of carbs/intake all related parts (6)
Cleaned and prepped intake plenums and manifold.
Rebuilt all Carbs, removed and installed water pump, replaced drive belts and repaired damged bolts in block. Cleaned and set up carb linkage. All carbs have correct compression. Installed four high temp fuel lines, 16 new hose clamps
Replaced all vacuum tubing and did complete tune-up.
Cost $4269.89 on 5/20/2002.
Complete Transmission Rebuild 7/11/03 - $3873
Transmission done at 51,393 miles only 607 miles on new tranny!

This car has passed the strict New Jersey Inspection/Emissions with flying colors in June, attesting to its' fine running and mechanical condition.

There is no rust to worry about, the car runs like a new car, smooth as a cat should be! With the Emerald/BRG exterior and tan leather interior is arguably the best color combination for this car making it one of the most strikingly beautiful cars ever made!

There is no rust whatsoever on the car. It is all original with the exception of one repaint done some time ago - I do not know the exact date. The chrome is in excellent condition. It has a Clarion single CD player installed with updated speakers (I do not know what kind of speakers used as the former owner had the CD installed) and the system sounds great! You can still blast the music with the top down at speed with no problem!

The car is priced to sell as I need the garage space (lost my three-car garage, down to one). This car is valued using "Sports Car Market" magazines Engish car pricing guide at $36000 in the current condition. THE RESERVE IS MORE THAN $10,000 LOWER THAN THAT!! As I said the car has to go.

Vehicle Condition
Condition is comensurate with a meticulously maintained original southern Jaguar with only 52,000 original miles. Some tiny nicks and dings on paint, slight scratch on lower front air in- take chrome strip. Wire wheels have some use evident as to be expected, but are in overall excellent original condition. There is no full tool roll with car, just the spinner and hammer to remove wheel and spare. The car comes with the original owner's manual, parts catalog, all receipts and nifty color matching green cloth briefcase for the car. The car has brand new, rare, front license plate holder.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
