Sellers description:
1974 E – Type Jaguar Convertible
Regency Red with Biscuit Interior

VIN# UE1S23588
82,574 miles
12 cylinder 5.3 liter
4 speed Manual Transmission
Factory Air Conditioning
Wire Wheels
Factory Hard Top in Matching Color (which is beautiful when installed)

This automobile is a stunning example of the Series Three E-type, Last of the Big Cats. I am the second owner, having bought this car in 1978. I have owned it for the last 27 years. This vehicle was professionally restored in 1993 at 79,152 miles, with no expense spared. Restoration included complete engine rebuild to factory specs, new stainless steel exhaust, new clutch, new radiator, the addition of a second set of cooling fans in front of the radiator, new paint, new windshield, all new rubber, new top, new upholstery and leather interior, reconditioned factory wire wheels, all to Concours factory quality. Attention to detail and factory correctness was the blue print for this restoration. This car was shown once in 1994 taking 2nd in class at 98 points, second as people’s choice for the entire event and nominated for best first out restoration. With a little more attention to detail, the car was shown in 1995, winning Best in Class at 98+ points. It has been driven a total of 3,422 miles since the complete restoration /rebuild, including the time frame when it was entered in Concours events. Included are plenty of spare parts and odds and ends, including a complete set of brand new “V” rated tires, plus a set of “H” rated Dunlops, period correct (BMC) radio, correct period(Lucas) head lamps, manuals, parts catalogs. This is a beautiful, correct, authentic representation of one of the classiest V-12 powered Convertibles in the world.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
