Description (revised)

Jaguar : XKE
1974 JAGUAR V12 XKE ROADSTER

Miles: 74000 Doors: 2 doors
Transmission: Automatic Interior: Beige/Tan
Engine: 12 - Cyl. Year: 1974
Exterior: Green

Vehicle Description: This is a nice original CA car with 74,000 actual miles, and still has its original paint and interior all in good condition. 12 Cylinder; automatic, with air conditioning. This is a 2 owner car since new and had about $8,500.00 in service receipts just within the past few years. This car runs and drives superbly, including brakes and shifting on transmission. The car has one of the most desirable colors, British racing green, with 5 excellent wire wheels and it comes with top-of-the-line Pirelli tires. The original top of the car was faded and the window tainted yellow, so by the time the winning bidder will pick up car, a brand new factory Everflex soft top will have been installed by my specialist, at my expense. There is a small ding in the hood, at the front, as you may see in the pictures, close to the grill, but the paint is still in very nice, original condition, as you can also see in the photos. This is a rust-free car and never had any collisions. I have included pictures of the super nice undercarriage . . . AND . . . Look at the great custom vanity plates that will come with the car!! This is a true survivor and great powerful classic English roadster.

Vehicle Condition: Drives superbly. $8,500 in recent receipts. Five wire wheels. Vanity plates. Super nice under carriage. a few more details taht I would like to add the car is CA deliverd since new . the vin nr is UE1S23476 Is registerd till next year . no needed repairs ,no rust . Look at the doorfit and bonnet and trunk this car is unmolested.

With three bids the price is currently at US $19,999.00 (Reserve not met)

Additional info from above auction:
1974 Jaguar E-type Series III Two-Seat Sports Roadster~
Chassis no. UE1S23476

The property of a well-known collector for the past seven years, this unrestored left-hand drive Series III E-type with green livery was delivered with a manual gearbox that has subsequently been converted to automatic transmission. An original US-market car, it has a recorded mileage of 84,207.

The series III was the final version of the highly-successful E-type (launched in the USA as the XK-E) and was powered by Jaguar’s exciting new 5.3-liter V12 power unit, designed by the unbeatable team of Wally Hassan, Claude Baily, Harry Mundy and William Heynes. Originally conceived in twin-cam form to revive Jaguar’s dominant position in sports car racing, the V12 engine went into production with a single overhead camshaft after the XJ13 project was dropped. This engine was first fitted to the E-type in order to revive the model’s image after power-sapping emissions regulations had drastically cut the power output of the XK six-cylinder engine. It would later be fitted into the XJ saloon car range that had been introduced with the trusty six in 1968.

The V12 Roadster used the longer wheelbase platform of the 2+2 Coupe and had a top speed of 135 mph. Standard equipment for the Roadster included rack-and-pinion power steering, adjustable steering column and power brakes.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
