Ebay item 11/23/23
Opening bid $1,973 reserve not met, 0 bids, 9 days left in auction, seller MOTOEXOTICA CLASSIC CARS FOR SALE, Fenton, Missouri, 24k miles. Previously Whitefish, Montana.
Seller's description:
This example was assembled in Jaguar's Coventry, England factory and its VIN identifies it as one of the last 100 XKE Coupes produced. The previous owner bought it on August 11, 2011, with just 15,538 miles on the clock.
Finished in General Motors' Butternut Yellow (think pale primrose), this low-slung two-door is ready for new adventures. The paint and trim are in overall excellent condition. The bodywork is straight and solid. The curved, chrome bumpers are in very good order. The car was reportedly never driven after dark or when there was any hint of rain or snow in the weather forecast while mainly stored in his heated shop in the mountains of northwest Montana.
This big cat rolls on new Hankook Kinergy ST radials, size 205/70R15. Each tire is mounted on a steel wheel topped with a full, vented wheel cover. The wheels and caps are all in very good order. The suspension has received attention new torsion bars, ball joints, all rubber and GAZ adjustable shocks. The rear suspension got four new coilover springs with adjustable GAZ shocks. John's Cars in Dallas, Texas is responsible for recalibrating the instruments, all of which are in operating order.
Under that big bonnet is a Chevrolet 350 (HO) CID V-8 crate engine with a cast iron block, 4 bolt main caps, Vortec heads and aluminum pistons. Factory built by Chevrolet using all new parts, it is rated at 333 horsepower with 381 foot-pounds of torque. The engine features an Edelbrock multiplane intake manifold with an Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor and an Accel high-energy ignition super coil. The engine breathes via Hedman Headers feeding a new 3" exhaust system with quad tips. The benefits of the V8 over the V12 are almost 100 more horsepower, four fewer cylinders and being100 pounds lighter. Other new parts include the water pump, power steering pump and alternator. Backing this motor is a Chevy 700R4 transmission, which has an extra gear over the factory original three-speed Borg-Warner automatic the car came with plus an additional 30% overdrive for even better fuel economy. Driver convenience features include power steering and power brakes.
All engine and suspension work was completed by 2017. Since then, the car has been driven less than 3,000 miles.
Inside, the black interior features the original Connolly leather seats, front and rear, and matching Wilton wool carpet. Even the black headliner looks great. A three-spoke steering wheel faces the driver while the dashboard has an array of gauges that remain in working order, including the speedometer and tachometer and there are new inner door panels. The hatch deck was reupholstered. The center console and associated shifter are also in fine form. An aftermarket Jaguar AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary input for your phone or iPod rounds out the interior.
