Ebay item 5/16/12

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Original-Survivor-same-owner-since-1973-records-/2808808 ...

Current bid $17,100 reserve not met, 18 bids 4 days left in auction. Buy it now price $29,500.

Sellers description:

1973 Jaguar E-Type Series lll 2+2 Coupe

Same owner since 1973 here in Portland Oregon. This rust free car has been stored in a garage all its life. This car runs and drives excellent and is in very solid condition.

VIN# UD l S 7 4 0 0 8

Engine & Transmission: The mechanics on this 88kmile car are well sorted. The car shifts smoothly and runs strong. The motor sounds exceptionally nice and delivers power whenever you want it. The car does need a new transmission mount & spring, the AC needs to be charged and the exhaust should be serviced. The car comes with a new tailpipe. There are records for service done over the years. The car has not been restored but has had regular attention when needed. The tires are new (5 of them).

Body: The body panels are all straight. All glass is in great shape. The car is free of any rust or corrosion. The paint is original and from 20 feet looks great. Up close there are rock chips on the nose, a small dent in the lower right of the grill trim and some crazing in the paint on the hood and rear fenders. The passenger side of the car rubbed against the garage door once and has scuffs on the two wheel arches. They have been touched up. The car was stored in a private garage and the doors have no dings in them. The rear passenger side window gasket is hard and cracked but the rest are fine. Over-all the car presents very well but it does have some chips and imperfections in the paint since it is original and unrestored. The car comes with an extra set of wheel knock offs that in show condition. The exterior color is very nice and shows the great lines of the car.

Interior: The interior is original and very well preserved. The car has an updated modern CD stereo. All instruments work as they should. The shifter boot has some wear on the front of it that is a little frayed. The trunk area is very nice as well as the spare tire compartment.

Summary:

This is a wonderful example of a British Sports Car Icon. It is in great driver condition and perfect for cruising or taking to car shows. They are only original once. This is a great E-Type to enjoy.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
