Ebay item 12/5/14

Current bid US $11,100 reserve not met 6 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
THIS IS ONE BEAUTIFUL CAR. IT HAS BEEN LOVINGLY CARED FOR OVER THE YEARS AND HAS BEEN COSMETICALLY AND MECHANICALLY VERY WELL MAINTAINED.

THIS V12 JAGUAR IS IN EXCELLENT COSMETIC CONDITION OUTSIDE AND IT IS IN GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION INSIDE. THE PAINT IS BEAUTIFUL WITH HARDLY A BLEMISH ANYWHERE. IT IS A RE-PAINT THAT WAS COMPLETED SEVERAL YEARS AGO (NOT THE ORIGINAL COLOR, BUT VERY CLOSE) AND IT STILL LOOKS GREAT TODAY. THE CHROME TRIM IS IN VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION ALL AROUND THE CAR. THE WINDOW GLASS LOOKS VERY GOOD. THE SOFT TOP IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION (THE PLASTIC REAR WINDOW IS CLEAR AND FREE OF ANY SCRATCHES). THE ORIGINAL CHROME WHEELS LOOK GREAT AND THE TIRES ARE LIKE NEW. THE INTERIOR IS MOSTLY ORIGINAL (EXCEPT FOR THE SEAT COVERS AND CENTER ARMREST PAD) AND IT LOOKS GOOD. THE CARPET IS WORN IN A FEW AREAS AND IS LOOSE IN THE DRIVER'S FOOTWELL. OVERALL, THE CARPET IS OK. THE DRIVER'S SEAT COVER IS STAINED AND THE SPRINGS ARE SOFT IN THE BOTTOM CUSHION. THERE IS A TEAR IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT COVER ON THE SIDE OF THE BACKREST. OTHERWISE, THE DASH, CENTER CONSOLE AND DOOR PANELS ALL LOOK GOOD. OVERALL, THIS JAGUAR HAS A VERY NICE INTERIOR!

THE WEATHERSTRIP SEALS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION ALL AROUND THIS CAR!

THE CURRENT OWNER HAS BEEN IN POSSESION OF THIS JAGUAR FOR OVER 32 YEARS!

WE HAVE ERVICE/MAINTENANCE RECORDS DATING BACK TO 1982! THE OWNER ALSO HAS A PRINTED TIMELINE OF SERVICE WORK COMPLETED!

THIS JAGUAR HAS A VERIFIED NUMBERS MATCHING ORIGINAL ENGINE AND ACCORDING TO THE CURRENT OWNER, THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD BE ORIGINAL AS WELL. THE ENGINE STARTS EASILY AND RUNS GOOD. THE 4-SPD MANUAL TRANSMISSION SHIFTS WELL THROUGH THE GEARS AND THE CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT IS VERY GOOD.

THIS IS A VERY SOLID AUTOMOBILE WITH NO BODY RUST AT ALL! THE UNDERCARRIAGE HAS SOME MINOR SURFACE RUST ON A FEW OF THE METAL COMPONENTS. THE FLOORBOARDS, ROCKER PANELS AND TRUNK FLOOR ARE SOLID WITH NO RUST!

THIS CLASSIC HAS BEEN MECHANICALLY METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED OVER THE YEARS. EVENSO, IT IS IN NEED OF A FEW REPAIRS AT THIS TIME. THE NEEDED REPAIRS ARE LISTED HERE: THE ENGINE RUNS GOOD AND THE CAR DRIVES WELL, BUT THERE IS SOME ENGINE HESITATION UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER'S PISTONS HAVE A TENDENCY TO STICK, ESPECIALLY AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE, SO THE REAR CALIPERS NEED TO BE REPLACED OR REBUILT. THE LEFT-REAR "RADIUS ARM ASSEMBLY" NEEDS NEW BUSHINGS BECAUSE THE CAR SHIFTS FROM SIDE-TO-SIDE UNDER ACCELERATION. OTHER THAN THOSE FEW ITEMS, THIS CAR NEEDS NOTHING ELSE TO DRIVE AND ENJOY IT TODAY!

THE VIN IS "UD1S22463".

MOST OF THE ELECTRICAL FEATURES WORK PROPERLY INCLUDING THE CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER, THE INTERIOR/EXTERIOR LIGHTS, THE DASH GAUGES, AND MOST OF THE DASH SWITCHES FOR THE LIGHTS, HAZARD, ETC. THE ANALOG CLOCK DOES NOT WORK.

THIS JAGUAR XKE V12 IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR AS IT IS, BUT WOULD ALSO MAKE A GREAT PLATFORM FOR A CONCOURS LEVEL RESTORATION! EITHER WAY, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS PURCHASE. OUR "RESERVE" IS BELOW MARKET VALUE SO BID NOW!

ONLY 59,238 ORIGINAL MILES!

THE 5-DIGIT ODOMETER READS 59,238 MILES AND THE ODOMETER WORKS. IT APPEARS THAT THE MILES ARE "ACTUAL" ACCORDING TO THE CURRENT OWNER'S TITLE AND THE INCLUDED RECORDS.

THE A/C SYSTEM'S BLOWER WORKS AND THERE IS COLD AIR BLOWING FROM THE VENTS, BUT IT IS SO COLD OUTSIDE AROUND HERE THAT IT IS HARD TO TELL EXACTLY HOW WELL THE A/C IS WORKING. THE HEAT WORKS FINE!

THIS JAGUAR HAS NO VIRGINIA STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE IT IS AN ANTIQUE VEHICLE.

INCLUDES 1 KEY, BOOKS, MANUAL, AND RECORDS.

Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate

Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer

This 1973 Jaguar E-Type roadster is finished in Fern Gray over tan leather and powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black convertible top and boot, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, inboard rear brakes, and chrome 15″ wheels. Acquired by the selling dealer in August 2021, this E-Type is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, an owner’s manual, spare parts as detailed below, and a clean Ohio title.

The car has been repainted in its original Fern Gray and features a black convertible top and matching boot, chrome bumpers with overriders, a chrome driver-side mirror, V12 badging, and dual central exhaust outlets. An additional set of front overriders is included in the sale. Rust can be seen on the trunk floor, around the fuel filler, and under the bonnet.

Chrome 15″ steel wheels feature Jaguar-logo center caps and wear 205/70 BFGoodrich Touring T/A SR4 tires. The power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes have inboard rear rotors, and the car is equipped with fully independent suspension.

The cabin features seating reupholstered in tan leather along with matching door panels, carpets, and floor mats along with a black dashboard and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, power adjustment for the side mirror, a British Leyland AM/FM radio, and rocker switches for auxiliary systems. Wear and oxidation are visible on the ashtray lid. The selling dealer notes the seating reupholstery was done without provisions for headrests, and that a replacement ashtray and driver-side HVAC vent will accompany the car.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, though total mileage is unknown. The removed steering wheel is included in the sale.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque and features single overhead camshafts, four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and a dual exhaust system with a crossover tube. Replacement engine decals are included in the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Rust is visible on some underside surfaces.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and identification numbers.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
