This nicely restored Jaguar convertible features the V12 motor and four speed transmission. The car just completed restoration this year. The current owner will furnish restoration receipts upon sale. The paint on the car is in great condition but has a small blemish on the front of the hood. Upon inspection, it was found that this car was very clean and restoration efforts were properly done.The car has been very well cared for and every item on the car is 100% functional. A great example to drive or show.

HISTORY
This 1973, Series III Jaguar E-type (XKE) is in excellent condition and has given me a huge amount of pleasure over the last 5 years. I bought it in 2001 from an individual living in Newton, MA, and understood that before then the car had lived in Florida. Certainly its condition suggests that was the case.

Since then the car has been housed in a dry, heated garage and been maintained, no expense spared, by one of Connecticut's most notable Jaguar authorities and mechanics. Over $25,000 (receipts available) has been spent on the car in the last 5 years in order to maintain the car's mechanics and restore its authenticity and quality to a level where it has been a consistent winner in car shows throughout the Northeast.

MILEAGE
The current mileage reads 32,771 miles (January 2006), and I can guarantee that the car has only been driven approximately 1,500 miles per year for the last 5 years as we have competed in shows as distant as Vermont and Long Island.

AWARDS
I have had a great deal of pleasure driving and showing this car at both Jaguar Club of North America (JCNA) and non-JCNA events. In the last 4 seasons the car has competed and won 9 JCNA events with an average score of 9.962 points in the Driven Division. It has been voted "Best in Show-Driven" on two occasions and came third in the nation in 2005.

AUTHENTICITY
The car has a framed Certificate from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (which will be included with the vehicle) that guarantees the authenticity and originality of the chassis, engine, gearbox and exterior and interior colors. Similarly I will include the copy of the Series III, V12 Operating, Service and Maintenance Handbook, and a copy of the Jaguar V12, Series III, E-type Repair Operation Manual.

FUN FACTS!
This is the more desirable stick shift (4 speed manual) version of the car, which enables you to take real advantage of its V12 power. The quality and color (azure blue) of the exterior paintwork is absolutely authentic and never fails to stimulate admiration. Not many Series III of this color were imported into the USA. The carpets and the seats have all recently been completely restored in authentic materials, as has the hood/soft top. The car has its original radio, which still works (but not to 2005-2006 levels of clarity!). The tires are in good condition, and the car is equipped with factory-issued optional wire wheels. More attractive (in my opinion) than the standard issue "solid" type of wheels seen on most 1973-1974 cars.

If you have always hankered after the sheer pleasure of owning and driving this classic sports car whose power and design has been so acclaimed it merited a place in the New York Museum of Modern Art, you owe it to yourself to take a look at this car. The V12 E-type begs to be driven, and the show record of this car guarantees you will not find a better driven example in the Northeast.

* Very rare, but desirable is the original Azure Blue paint finish which is in impeccable condition. The interior is of original materials, but has been completely restored to as new condition. The soft top was also replaced with an authentic material replacement which shows in as-new condition. The tonneau is original, but in excellent condition. Also rare is the factory installed air conditioning that even rarer still, works like brand new! It's so nice to be out on a hot/humid day with the top down and the air conditioning keeping you cool at stops! Very few e-type with air conditioning actually blow ice cold air! Another rarity is the original radio which also works. The optional factory chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition and shine as new. The wheels have Pirelli tires mounted in excellent condition.
* Though the actual mileage isn't known the odometer indicates that just under 34,000 miles has been placed on the car. The engine starts quick, doesn't smoke and runs very strong and smooth. I am the new owner. She is a beauty. Just spent $20,000 getting her up to speed. Complete engine overhaul and Borg Warner T-5 gearbox just fitted. The extra gear is a must with the V12.
