Ebay item 5/22/06

Opening bid $20,000 reserve not met , no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. 43k miles.

Sellers description:
Here is a very excellent original one owner car with a record of most everything done to it since new. It has always been garage kept and regularly maintained by the owner, the dealer, and highly trained, specialized mechanics. Over the years, anything the car has needed have been routinely replaced with an open wallet and genuine Jaguar parts, including replacement of such little items as slightly hardened rubber moldings, gaskets, hoses, and seals that always weather on older Jags. It runs and drives as new. This is a very honest car. The overall condition of the body is original and very good to excellent. The paint is deep and shiny and body panels are straight with no dents or scratches. The owner’s records tell me it had some minor touch up paint work done on the car’s rocker panels (stone chips) in 1982. If you look close in person, you can see how minor this work was and my advice was to leave it as exactly original as possible and do no “new” paint work. As it is, now you can determine the work that was done so many years ago was inconsequential and competent but not factory perfect. The chrome and hardware are amazing. No pits, rust, dents or scratches and it has that deep luster that indicates the first rate plating that is so difficult to find these days. The top is new about a year ago and done correctly both inside and outside. As mentioned before, the engine is powerful, the transmission is smooth and the car can be certified to be perfect mechanically. The engine is not polished to a high luster (as I would do) because the owner likes to drive the car ! The interior is very clean and original with no scuffs, tears or rips. The trunk mats are all present and original as are the liners, jack and tool kit. The dash and instruments are as new and function perfectly. The car is equipped with factory air conditioning and a factory hardtop. The latter can be negotiated for in a final sale price. Everything works as it should. You can pick it up and take it anywhere.
