Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series IIII roadster was partially refurbished during previous ownership with reupholstered seats, a replacement red convertible top and carpets, a brake system and suspension overhaul, and a mechanical refresh. The car is finished in white over a red leather interior, and power comes from a numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12 that has been modified with a fuel-injection system from an XJS, a MegaSquirt engine management system, a Lucas Constant Energy ignition system, and a spin-on oil filter conversion. The selling dealer acquired the car in 2019 and has since installed 15″ knock-off wire wheels and Michelin Defender tires. This Series III E-Type roadster is now offered by the selling dealer in Canada with over $75k worth of receipts and invoices for work performed since 2017, spare parts, literature, and transferable Ontario registration.

The body wears an older white repaint and features chrome moldings, chrome bumper overriders with black rubber inserts, and a replacement red convertible top that was installed as part of the refurbishment started in 2017. The selling dealer notes corrosion on the lower rocker panels, rear fascia, and some undercarriage components, as well as paint chips around the body and a crack below the rear decklid emblem. The windshield is cracked, and a replacement windshield will accompany the car along with replacement inner and outer rocker panels, a reproduction deck lid panel, and a set of replacement door, trunk, and window seals.

15″ knock-off wire wheels were fitted by the selling dealer along with replacement wheel hubs. They wear 205/70 Michelin Defender tires, and the removed 15″ five-lug steel wheels are included. Chassis work performed in 2017 included a front suspension overhaul with replacement ball joints, sway bar bushings and end links, shocks, front wheel bearings, steering rack mounts and boots, and tie rod ends. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs that were serviced during prior ownership with a replacement brake master cylinder and servo, brake hoses, calipers, rotors, and pads.

The cabin was refreshed with replacement red leather upholstery on the seats and door panels as well as replacement red carpets. The dash pad has been recovered in leather, and the shift knob and brake light switch have been replaced. A push-button AM/FM radio is fitted, and a replacement trunk floor was fabricated from plywood, painted black, and covered in matching red carpet.

An aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts factory Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Ancillary gauges for the battery, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dash, and the five-digit odometer shows 25k miles.

The 5.3-liter V12 has been fitted with a fuel-injection system and intake manifold sourced from a later XJS model along with a MegaSquirt engine management system. Additional work performed since 2017 included removing and cleaning the fuel tank, replacing the alternator with a 90-amp GM unit, installing a Lucas Constant Energy ignition system, replacing the accessory drive belts, installing upgraded camshaft cover seals, repairing and cleaning the radiator, installing dual electric cooling fans, and installing a spin-on oil filter. Engine stamping 7S9970LA matches the engine number stamped on the chassis plate.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and service performed since 2017 includes a replacement clutch master cylinder, a replacement clutch slave cylinder, and a new exhaust system.

Replacement weatherstripping and glass seals, the removed steering wheel, and other spare parts are included in the sale.
