This 1973 Jaguar XKE roadster is finished in Azure Blue over tan leather and was acquired by the seller 10 years ago from the estate of the previous owner, who reportedly owned the car since 1977. Power comes from a numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12 paired with an automatic transmission. The factory carburetors have been replaced with SU units, and the transmission was rebuilt in 2011. Alterations include knock-off wire wheels, chrome overriders, a Series I-style steering wheel, and an aftermarket cassette player. This XKE is now offered with a removable hardtop, records dating back to the 1980s, removed emissions equipment, the Stromberg carburetors, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The hardtop is finished in black as depicted above, and reportedly shows wear and orange peel. According to the seller, the front-end was bumped while in a garage during 2005, which subsequently led to repairs and an exterior repaint in Azure Blue. Records for the paint and bodywork were not given to the seller. Shots of the paint from multiple angles are posted in the gallery below, and the seller notes a ding in the front grille surround, several stone chips behind the wheels, two dings in the rear fender, and spots beginning to show from the prior nose repairs.

The black soft top is also pictured in the gallery, and a matching boot cover accompanies the sale as shown above. Earlier-series chrome bumper overriders and knock-off 15″ wire wheels are equipped. A full-sized spare assembly mounted with a Michelin XWX tire is contained in the trunk.

According to the seller, the seats and center armrest have been overhauled with new foam, diaphragms, and leather upholstery. A wooden Series I-style steering wheel and an AM/FM cassette player are equipped.

Noted interior flaws include worn carpeting and an inoperable tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 49,200 miles, approximately 1k of which were driven by the seller during the past decade.

The above video demonstrates several interior functions. Another video showing the lighting is provided here.

The 5.3-liter V12 is fitted with SU carburetors, and the stock emissions equipment has been removed, although the components are included in the sale. The automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2011 at 46,260 miles, and at that time the engine compartment and underside of the bonnet were repainted, the latches were sent out and re-plated, a new stainless steel exhaust system was installed, and the radiator expansion tank was replaced. An associated receipt is posted in the gallery. The engine is said to stumble upon startup after sitting for more than a week.

Engine stamping 7S9139LA matches that listed on the engine bay data plate.

Underneath, the seller notes an oil leak coming from around the oil filter assembly, in addition to weeping from the power steering hose. Corrosion is described on the suspension components and around the aforementioned stone chips behind the wheels.

Service records dating back to the 1980s are included and removed emissions equipment, the factory Stromberg carburetors, and other items accompany the sale.
