Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar E-Type XKE For Sale:
I purchased this vehicle in 1989 since that time the car has had new floors, outer sills and new trunk floor installed. The inner sills need some repairs along the seam edge but are sound. It has had a down to bare metal paint job, but has some minor dings since. The bonnet needs some finishing but is sound with little or no rust it also needs adjustment since it is loose fitted, there is also some paintwork needing attention along the front edge of the bulkhead where the bonnet meets the bulkhead. The bonnet is a replacement for one that was damaged in a minor front end collision.. The car runs and drives although it needs some attention to the automatic gearbox as it sometimes makes a ringing noise in neutral or park as if something is spinning loose. The fuel pump is non standard and needs replacing with a standard pump but is adequate for test running.

The car has a good exhaust system with good chrome that was new 10 years ago and has probably seen less than 100 miles since new. The chrome around the windows still looks pretty good and there are no chips or cracks in the glass. There is a minor crease on the right side body work between the door and the bonnet that needs filling or pulling out.

Interior:
The interior of the car will need some TLC but is serviceable. The car needs new carpeting and the inside door covers need installation. The radio is there, the console needs a bit of cosmetic work.

The car has a serial number on the suspension cross member of P2R28758 and a body shell number of R37490, I never did find an engine serial number other than what might be a casting number C2904011. The car has clear Illinois Title. Milage shows approx 27,000 but is unknown.

Like any used car that is this old, there are some things that will need attention. I will, to the best of my ability, attempt to describe all the features of this car, as well as the condition of the car and what items need to be given attention.

The car is available for viewing and pick up in the East Troy area of Wisconsin

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
