This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired by the owner in 2020 and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Pale Primrose over black leather upholstery, and equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and air conditioning. Service between 2024 and early 2025 included overhauling the carburetors, replacing the fuel tank and water pump, and refreshing ignition, steering, and braking components. This XKE roadster is now offered on behalf of the owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, an owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Kansas title.
The car is finished in Pale Primrose and features a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and uncovered sealed-beam headlights. The seller notes that the paint exhibits various chips and flaws, which can be viewed in the gallery. The door, hood, and trunk weatherstripping and bumper rubber gaskets were replaced in August 2024, and the exterior lamp housing seals were replaced in early 2025.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are secured by lobed nuts and were mounted with Diamondback Classics Auburn Redline Radial tires in February 2025. The car is equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and power steering, and the steering rack was overhauled in September 2024. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake master cylinder and front and rear hoses were replaced in September 2024. A leak is noted from the power steering pump.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, a heater, a locking glovebox, and a cassette stereo. The seller notes that the clock and radio are non-functional, the windshield washer system is inoperative, and the air conditioning does not blow cold. A split is visible on the bottom driver’s seat cushion.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm redline tachometer, and an analog clock. Auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 40k miles, about 150 of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Service between July 2024 and October 2024 included an ignition tune-up, an overhaul of the starter and carburetors, installation of Cool Cat electric fan motors and seven-blade fans, and replacement of the following components:
Fuel tank
Fuel pump, filter, and hoses
Water pump
Thermostat
Radiator hoses
Radiator core
Accessory drive belts
Cam cover seals
Oil-return tube hose and gasket
The engine block stamping 7R12964-9 matches the number on the chassis tag and the Jaguar Heritage certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch cylinders and a clutch hose were replaced in September 2024. The seller states a stainless steel exhaust has been installed.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and numbers.
