Ebay item 3/1/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-26-000-MILE-TIME-CAPSULE-See-VIDEO-TEST-DRIVE-197 ...
Current bid US $15,099 reserve not met 45 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2.
Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Motors.

This completely original XKE had one owner for 40+ years. Impeccably maintained and sparingly driven, today it is in stellar condition with just over 26,000 actual miles showing on the odometer.

Beautiful Sable color paint looks like new with no blemishes. No signs of accidents or abuse and NO RUST. Brilliant original chrome and trim. This car has working FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. The original seats are soft and supple with no tears or damage. Simply lovely. Headliner is excellent with one small area of separation from the backing noted above the driver's seat. No tears or stains. All gauges work and register accurately. Radio and accessories all work. Beautiful original wood steering wheel.

Mechanically, it is excellent. The original 4.2 litre 6 cylinder engine starts, idles and runs perfectly. Plenty of power, no smoke or issues. Runs and handles like a well-maintained, 26,000 mile car should. Rated at 0-60 mph in 8.9 seconds. 0-100 mph in 19.1 with a top speed of 136.2 mph. The Borg-Warner automatic transmission shifts easily. Girling disc brakes stop the car smooth and straight. Truly a pleasure to drive. It recently received over $8000 in service (receipts included) and it is ready to drive anywhere.

If you are looking for one of the finest original examples of a 1970 XKE 2+2, this is the one.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
