Ebay item 9/16/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-1970-jaguar-xke-coupe-lhd-4-speed-94-k-4-2-or ...
Current bid US $15,101 reserve not met 6 bids 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $29,999. Car now said to be in Tacoma, Washington. 94k miles.
Sellers description:
If you are really after one of these XKE's and are looking for one that has survived but is set up to drive every day, then please take this one. She is a daily driver and take a close look at those photos, this is a very solid example. This car was in the hands of a collector who DROVE IT! You can see the updated collector plates. I love the car. UNMOLESTED AND SOLID! It is very obvious this car has never been in an accident. You can get in, pull the choke and 60 seconds later you are on your way.
I would rate this car a very good #3. The 4.2 is original to the car and has had a pretty major service in the last 2000 miles. I drove the car for a couple days and all I can say is that this is what she offers the next owner; a no hassle get-in-go XKE. I just looked at one the other day and it looked good but needed a good 5-6k to be made a driver not to mention what I will surely find along the way. She just goes and shifts nice. The tires are like new and brakes are solid.
The interior is very original with good leather seats and dash. The rear compartment is in real fine shape and does not look like she was used to transport lumber or plants from the nursery. The AC looks like it was serviced and has a new belt but it's not blowing. The compressor is working though. The glove box does have the lock I just forgot to put it back in for the photos. COMES WITH ORIGINAL TOOLS AND JACK! Has the knock off tool as well and a spare Wire Wheel. All the gauges work including tachometer. The clock does not. Heat, wipers and updated CD player are in working order. The steering wheel and headliner are excellent.
The body is so original and sooooo solid. You can see in the photos she as a ding or two much no major damage and only a little touch up here and there. Mostly original paint. The chrome is really clean and ALL THE LIGHTS AND BLINKERS WORK! No apparent electrical issues. The floors, battery tray and trunk pan are super solid and if you know these, those can be problem spots. Glass is all very good with no chips or cracking.
THIS HAS NEVER BEEN IN A SALT STATE! IN WASHINGTON MOST OF HER LIFE! ORIGINAL OWNER FOR 25 YEARS! HAVE NO FEAR THIS IS A FAIR PRICE FOR A GREAT AND UNMOLESTED DRIVER!
