Ebay item 7/7/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Regency-Red-RUST-FREE-A-C-Rare-WEBASTO-SUNROOF-/30057486 ...
Current bid $3,383.33 reserve not met, 4 bids 5 days left in auction. Buy it now price $15,995. Car now said to be located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Sellers description:
Jaguar XKE in the desirable Regency Red color code. This car had been driven then garaged for about 29 years and has been off road for the past 6-7 years. Prior owner had owned it since 1982 It is a complete numbers matching car and has had a great deal of care for her through the years....It will come with 3-4 boxes of extra parts in the trunk. (Chrome, light covers etc....)
2+2 Body has been well maintained her whole life. Frame is solid. Floor pans are original and solid. Original Seat belts. Original radio. Original gauges. Original metal Still has her original drivetrain....ALL NUMBERS MATCHING.... Car has very low original 41,440 miles on her. With originality comes the need for some replacement parts. Gaskets, exhaust, tires and other trim pieces will need replacing. Although work has been done on the engine system, it was years ago.. Was told by prior owner the car was running 6 years ago when the engine work was done.
The work that's been done through the years include:
- rebuilt tie rods
- rebuilt ball joints
- gas tank was boiled out and coated
- rebuilt carbeurator
- rebuilt fuel pump
- All front and rear seats have been completely refinished but unused condition
Car comes equipped with Factory A/C and an ultra rare Factory (or dealer installed Webasto Sunroof .
Car came with the chrome, glass and seats loose. For the purpose of display we mounted the visible chrome glass and seats, but will still need to be tightened . 2 isolated holes under the spare tire section, small holes in a piece under the bonnet and one blemish by the drivers rear fender are noticeable but all easily fixed. Car was primed but needing sanding becuase the bare metal was exposed to light surface rust so a thin layer of the correct Regency Red Urethane ($212 a gallon) was added but it has not yet been clearcoated. It is the correct color for this car, made to exact Jaguar standards . Additional coats can be done or simply seal it with clear coat the way it is. It is a very nice look, with absolutely no filler anywhere. It does appear the car was once painted primrose yellow...Car is priced very well for a solid, original XKE with custom features.
Doors shut tight. Rolls and steers. Complete car with some parts missing or needing replacement. The important stuff is there. Needs finishing touches and restore work ...but this car is very much worth the investment. Clear, clean title. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR TO RESTORE. IT DOES NOT RUN.
