Ebay item 1/25/14 www.ebay.com/itm/191048381331
Current bid $17,100 reserve not met, 17 bids 4 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car is J69P1R42332BW.
Sellers description:
This 69 XKE 2+2 is in very good condition, there is no evidence of rust or body work. The car has been repainted, the upholstery has been redone and it has 5 new tires. This very desirable collector car runs and drives like it did in 1969. It is a true sports car in every way. It has been well taken care of and only has 50, 757 miles. As previously mentioned, it does have windshield wiper wear scratches on the passengers side. These could probably be buffed out. The car came from Colorado and has been in New Mexico since the late 1980's. One more detail, it has been upgraded to electronic ignition. the spark plugs and distributor wires are new. The electrical system is in very good condition, everything works fine. I think the A/C system probably needs freon. The compressor seems to work good, it just doesn't blow very cold air.

Car returns to ebay 11/4/14 www.ebay.com/itm/171526824822
Car has a buy it now price of $25,500 for 18 days. Car now said to be in Playa del Rey, California. 51k miles.
Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar E Type/XKE Coupe with the 2+2 body. The car is in great shape and has been partially restored 10 years ago. The paint looks great, as does the interior. It has an automatic transmission and around 51,000 miles. Needs a few mechanical bits sorted out and it should be 100% after that. Not an expert but here are some of the main items that need to be done. If you are serious you are more than welcome to come see the car or send someone else.
1) steering rack is leaking
2) carbs need to be cleaned or maybe rebuilt
3) some of the rubber & hoses are dry so they need replacing
Besides that the car is in great shape as I said; it was restored about 10 years ago but the previous owner died and his wife did not drive it much. These cars are getting harder and harder to find in rust-free condition.
