This 1979 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Automatic, the 61st from last RHD 2+2 made, is presented in Colorado Red with Black leather interior. The car had a bare metal respray and engine rebuild in 2005, and has been lovingly maintained over the last 15 years by the current owner. During the vendor's ownership the car has received over £12,000 worth of expenditure, and has only covered 10,000 dry weather miles. The car is fitted with a new Webasto Roof and new tyres all round.

There is a comprehensive history file with a maintenance log, various invoices, previous MOTs, and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate which confirms matching engine and chassis numbers. The car is MOT and vehicle licence exempt, however, for peace of mind a new MOT was obtained in April 2021. The vendor says that the car is in very good condition and is a pleasure to drive.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
