Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar E type convertible. I am the third owner, but I've only taken it around the block a few times since trading my 1990 XJS (and a lot to boot) for it. Much more fun to drive than the XJS. The car has a fresh light green paint, new tan interior, tan top and a new 5-speed transmission installed by the first owner. The Jag was originally purchased in Charelson, SC in August 1970 for $6,000.00. He owned and took amazing care of the car until he pasted away at the age of 98 (he drove the car up til he was 96). He left the car to his accountant (my friend & second owner) and he drove the car off and on for about a year before trading with me. The Jag Is about 3 years and 500 miles removed from the original owner. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm a mopar guy. I've got a good collection going, and it's just not the same. Fun car to drive and looks great, but it's no t a Mopar.

The Good:
· Only 34,000 original miles.
· Light green paint (about 6 years old)
· New tan leather upholstery
· New $800.00 Steering wheel
· Factory air
· New 5 speed transmission. Cost over $5,600.00.
· Tonneau Cover that covers the windshield back to the folded convertible top.
· Everything original except for the interior, transmission & fresh paint.
· Tires are in great condition.
· Bumpers look good for their age.
· Full spare tire. (Never been touched)
· No dents / never in an accident - Strait as an arrow.
· Drives better than the 1990 XJS I traded for it ( and a lot more fun)
· Original owners manual, maintenance sheet and even the sales receipt when sold new.

The Bad (not that bad):
· The speedometer cable is broken.
· The rims look good, however, could be polished to look better.
· The gauge lights don't work (Blown fuse maybe?)

This Jaguar is very nice, a blast to drive and very attractive car.

I bought the car in June 2012 when it was imported to Germany in 2011 and finally prepared for the german licence plate and technical check.
The engine made a serious noise so I had to oberhaul the engine with all parts. I found out that the engine was broken before because the pistons were almost new and a connecting rod was blue - a serious engine problem was fixed from the first owner.
Beside the engine I replaced the wheels, shock absorbers, roof, carpets, exhaust, carburators, etc. I restored almost every technical item because there were 100 small problems coming up. Today the car is in perfect condition and not any technical problem exists today. I appreciat the 5-speed gearbox from Borg-Warner which works perfect.
Today the car is registered in the southwest of Germany.
