This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that was produced in November 1969, and it was refurbished during previous ownership. Power is provided by a replacement 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in silver over red leather. Additional features include a black soft top, an Alpine stereo, triple SU carburetors, and 15″ wire wheels. The seller acquired the car in 2015 and has since rebuilt the carburetors and overhauled the fuel system. This Series II XKE roadster is now offered with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Delaware title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in its current silver during prior ownership, and photos documenting the process are included in the sale. The black soft top is shown raised and lowered in the gallery, and additional features include exposed headlights, chrome-finished bumpers with guards, and tail lights positioned below the bumpers.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels are secured with short-eared knock-offs and wear 225/60 Michelin Pilot tires. A matching spare wheel fitted with an Avon radial is stored in the rear compartment, and braking is managed by four-wheel discs.
Cabin finishes include red leather upholstery accompanied by matching door panels and interior trim as well as a black dashboard. An Alpine stereo is linked to speakers fitted within the center stack, and lap belts are provided for both occupants.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts factory Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 1,400 miles, approximately 300 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement twin-cam 4.2L inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors and was rebuilt at the time of the refurbishment. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. According to the seller, the carburetors were rebuilt in 2020 and the fuel system was overhauled.
