Current bid $10,867 reserve not met, 3 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1964 Jaguar XKE Series 1 L6 3.8L/231 CID Coupe
Owned by me since late 1997. I beleive I am the 4th owner. Engine and trans are original and the numbers match, per mechanic. Transmission is the Moss type, no 1st gear synchro. Speedo reads 59000 miles. This model has the Triple SU side draft carburetor setup--which has been completely professionally rebuilt to original specs. No accidents or crash damage noted. Have full maintenance & upgrade records since previous owner acquired the car about 30 yrs ago. Here are the car's known defects:
* Speedo doesn't work. Looks to be the cable. Have new one awaiting install. (Tach does work)
* Paint on roof is slightly crinkled under the clear coat (about 5 x 10 in. area). Passenger door has some clear coat blemishes which I am going to try to rub/buff out. Per local body shop guy, may be able to fix this by carefully wet sanding with 2400 grit and re-clear coat--or maybe not. I can't get a pic that shows crinkles, naked eye can see it , though.
* Initials of previous owner (KR) are etched into corner of both door windows.
* Paint job is GM/Oldsmobile metallic silver rather than original pewter. (For the purists)
* One minor body leading defect near rear wheel well
* Left rear bumper was installed slightly out of horizontal. You can see it when you compare the gaps between the bottom of the right and left tail lights and the top of the bumper
Detailed summary of maintenance and restoration work done runs to 3-1/2 typewritten pages and is supported by receipts. There are too many restorations and repairs to list here. Scan of maintenance & repair summary available on request. All receipts and restoration records come with the car. I have put on less than 550 miles since purchase in 1997.
Entire interior was professionally replaced, including headliner. See photos. Body is solid. Drive train is strong. Suspension is in excellent condition. Engine purrs like a kitten. This car can be a candidate for a full professional restoration or it can be a very reliable daily driver if that is what you want.
Also included will be the original E-Type operating, maintenance and service manual, numerous Jaguar parts catalogs, & The EJAG News Magazine 1982-88 (most issues). Big box of spare parts goodies--lots of spare OEM electrical parts, (such as wipers, points and condenser sets) ---are also included.
Since purchased by me in 1997 this car has been started and driven monthly and has been stored in an attached (partly heated) garage. Fluids updated and changed regularly by me. I installed a new Howes aluminum Hi Cap radiator and starter solenoid and have had the carbs overhauled by a local specialist. All belts & all hoses recently replaced. Have many chrome body parts awaiting install including new bumper and bumper overrider parts and a new hi-efficiency radiator fan and a new fan motor and controller.

Sellers description:
have decided to sell my 1964 Jaguar Series 1 E Type Fixed Head Coupe. It is an early Series 1 with a 3.8 liter 6-cylinder engine with 3 SU carburators, toggle switches and covered headlights. It is numbers matching and in the original colors. This car is opalescent gray with a red interior. It looks and runs well and is a very nice driver. The car was restored 20 years ago and has been maintained since that time with regular service, oil changes, etc. The transmission was rebuilt in 1996. A new radiator was put in by the previous owner. I have all the service records for the last 30 years. The interior was redone in a combination of vinyl and leather. There are no rips or tears in the seats or door panels. The carpet is in very good condition with no spots, stains or rips. The headliner was also redone in gray trim, as were the visors. All of the glass is in very good condition with no cracks. The chrome is in good condition. The speedometer does not work because of a broken speedo cable and I have a new cable which goes with the car. The clock does not work. All the rest of the gauges all work. The car comes with a service manual, spare wheel and knock off tool. No other tools come with the car. The tires have few miles on them, but are old. The paint is holding up quite well considering it was resprayed 20 years old. I just had an oil and filter change before putting the car up for sale.
