Ebay item 10/26/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-series-one-1964-Jaguar-E-Type_W0QQitemZ250 ...
Current bid $14,000, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction. 63k miles.
Sellers description:
I have owned this car for over fifteen years having bought it in 1991. I bought it to restore as it needed a new interior and was rather shabby. However, I could not resist so in 1998 I changed the generator, fuel pump and tuned the carbs and began driving it. I had it running well but it was still shabby. In the fall of 2000 I had a clutch problem (clutch master or slave cylinder)and rather than work on it I put it in storage and started to collect parts foe a full restoration as originally intended. I was never a good fit for the car because of height. Now with age, weight, and physical mobility problems fitting in the car is impossible so I am selling it. My loss is someone opportunity to own a great car. The car is a very late 1964 series one 3.8 car having all the improvements made to that series. The serial number is 890685 (88 and 89 prefix designate left hand drive coupes). The starting number for the 4.2 engine coupe in Oct 1964 is 890715. The car is a number matching car, the engine number is RA7073-9 (the 9 indicates 9-1 compression ratio) There is a small dent in the right front of the bonnet and a crease in front of the left hand door ( where door opened too far) and edges where paint has chipped off have surface rust. The car is dirty in the pictures ( no way to wash it where it is). I t is white with a black interior. The car needs a complete restoration. The car is complete but comes if wanted with a spare set of doors, a rear door, some new chrome pieces, a new set of engine hoses and a few other bits. Also I have a 4.2 gear box which makes for a nicer driving car that I will offer to sell to the buyer.
