Ebay item 3/18/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $1,000 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 6 days left in auction, car said to be in Daly City, California
Sellers comment:
This is a 1964 XKE coupe with a 3.8 liter engine. This car has been parked for the last 15 years, has been neglected and exposed to the weather near the California coast. The car has a lot of rust but could be restored with a lot of work by somebody with enough time and knowledge. This car is 99% complete and if restoration is not desired it can be used for parts. The car has a lot of parts that can be reused including chromes, bumpers, glasses, gauges, mechanical parts, suspension, bonnet, etc. I have the bill of sale and registration. If necessary a title can be requested from the California DMV.
Vehicle Condition
Running gear, engine, transmission, rear end, differential, brakes, suspension are complete. The motor is not frozen with no signs of water or rust inside cylinders. There is rust on the floor panels, rocker panels, doors and bonnet. The interior needs to be redone but is complete with dash board, gauges, seats and glasses.

Car has the usual California modified VIN number of J64890459. Added extra numbers off of data plate as per note from current owner/seller. He also confirmed that the current engine in the car is not original and even has a non-matching cylinder head verses engine block. The cylinder head number does NOT match the number on the engine data plate. However I have not found the number on the block. If you know where it is can you let me know and ill check for you. I don't have much experiance on Jag engines. I just bought the car to be restored but it's a really big job and I don't have that kind of time or knowlege. I've had it for about a month. The guy I bought it from had left it parked for more than 15 years because of a bad clutch and the weather just destroyed it. The color is original, Metalic Blue. Amazingly the engine turns and I am about 90% sure it will run if you clean up the carborators and give it a service.
