    Summary
    Built to LHD specification this E Type was, unusually, UK registered when new at the factory and then shipped to the USA. It reclaimed its original registration on its return to the UK in 2009.
    The car was an original rust free import from California and underwent a full nut and bolt restoration, completed in 2006. The body shell was stripped by Cleaning Consultants with the body finishing undertaken by Nidor Bodyworks. Replacement engine frames from E-Type Fabs. The engine was completely rebuilt to "fast road" specification by Sigma Engineering as was the rear axle. The gearbox is a 5 speed supplied by E-Type Fabs.
    Upgrades include: Aluminium radiator and header tank with electric cooling fan and manual override switch; Cable throttle from John Mangolesti; Exhaust manifolds coated by Zircotec; Stainless steel exhaust system; Brake and clutch fluid bottle mounting plate in stainless steel lined with Zircotec;
    Uprated torsion bars and front antiroll bar from Rob Beere Racing; Fast steering rack from SNG Barratt; Electric power steering (switchable), from E Type Fabs.

    Wheels are all stainless from MWS and fitted with Michelin 205 x 17 XZX tyres; Front brakes are 4 pot vented from Coopercraft with Mintex pads; rear brake callipers from Coopercraft with Mintex pads; Brake and clutch lines are Goodridge flexible; Wishbones and rear hubs zinc plated and powder coated for corrosion protection.

    Fuel tank sealed against ethanol; SU Electronic fuel pump.

    Heated and tinted windscreen and rear window for rapid de-misting; All glass tinted; Clock modified with electronic movement; Hazard warning lights, LED daylight running lights (can be removed), All other bulbs including interior are LED; Interior lined with Zircotec and Cool-It Insulation.

    Wherever possible all nuts, bolts, screws and washers are stainless steel.

    Interior trim from John Skinner and installed by Cotswold Classic Cars; seats are modified MX5 with head-rests, as supplied by CMC; Inertia reel seat belts are incorporated in the bottom of the B pillar as with Series 3 cars.

    Disclaimer: This condition report was written by Julian Shoolheifer Limited in 2017 and while the details at that time were correct we cannot guarantee them and no claim can be made against Julian Shoolheifer Limited.

    Auctioneers Notes: I don't use the word concourse, but if I did, this car gets very, very close. The vendor, who is 80 years young, built this car to his specification for continental travelling and all the modifications carried out point in that direction. It is worth noting that the original bucket seats which will need to be re-upholstered and the delightful Moss 4-speed gear box can be collected by the purchaser from the vendors home and he asked me to say that he would be very pleased to talk about the car to the new owner. By the way, these items are included in the sale at no extra cost. The vendor asked me to mention that the rear shock absorbers are adjustable for height and ratet and the front shock absorbers rate only. All brake and clutch pipes are Goodrick flex pipes, and as bleeding E-Type rear brakes are a nightmare he has fitted a remote rear bleeding system. There is a massive, comprehensive history file and the vendor has an original photograph of the car when he purchased her. The car can be viewed by appointment, she is something special.

    Sold by Guy Newton Historic Cars of Bosham in May 2019. Abbreviated and amended seller's description below.
    www.guynewtoncars.com/product-category/recently-sold/

    Delivered in 1964, this Fixed Head Coupe was registered in the UK as 7582WK. supplied new in left hand drive, it was then personally exported by the first owner to Hollywood. The car was sold in 2007, in original condition, to the UK. The current vendor purchased the car in 2009 and used it in its original state, reapplying for its original WK number which it retains.

    In 2010 the car was stripped to bear metal, the body was rust free, and restored to world class condition. Upgraded to make this a drivers car, upgrades include front and rear heated windscreens, electric power steering, Cooper Craft brakes with Mintex racing pads, aluminium radiator and header tank coupled to a Kenlowe fan, a fast steering rack from SNG Barratt, uprated torsion bars from Rob Beere Racing and a stainless steel exhaust system.

    Sigma Engineering stripped and rebuilt the engine to fast road specification, including a racing alternator and high torque starter motor, rebuilt rear axle with adjustable shock absorbers and fitted electronic pump and distributor. The gearbox is a 5 speed unit form E Type Fabs. The bucket seats have been replaced with sports seats with reclining backs and headrests. The cabin floor is lined with Cool It insulation. The restoration finished in 2016 and the car is in immaculate restored condition.
