Ebay item 11/22/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XKE-1964-Jaguar-XKE-Spectacular-Cond-Needs-Resto- ...
Current bid $3,600.53 reserve not met, 7 bids 6 days left in auction. Previous color was dark blue.
Sellers description:
I am marketing this rare hard to find collector 1964 Jaguar XKE for my next door neighbor. Rich purchased this vehicle new in 1964 from Hempstead Jaguar Auto Co. Rich has the original bill of sale and registration. This vehicle has been kept in storage for the last 15 years in his heated garage. As you can see in provided pictures the vehicle is in excellent restorable condition, I do not see any evidence of any rust to my eye. This vehicle when parked in the garage was in great running condition. I was told by Rich that the vehicle will start and drive however the battery, fuel pump and carburetors diaphragms all need replacement (not running at this time) is an EZ fix. The motor and transmission over the years have been replaced with a 1965 4.2L engine rated @ 265HP stock motor. The replacement motor and transmission (4 speed Synchro mesh) had 25,728 miles on it when installed. The rear end was also replaced with a 1967 307 possi rear that was taken from a 1967 Jag that had only 18,728 miles on it. Vehicle is also equipped with Koni shocks front and rear, heavy duty sway bars front and rear. Needless to say this car was Riches pride and joy. This vehicle was in the family for 45 years as Rich is the original owner. There comes a time when one has to sell there toys as only Mother Nature can justify as this is the case here. Hopefully this fine automobile will end up in a fine home and will bring great fun and joy to its new owners as it did for Richey and his family. Sounds like a lot of car and great investment for you hard earned dollar now and later.
