Ebay item 4/23/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-E-Type-Coupe-/160577516944
Current bid $20,000, no reserve 1 bid 9 days left in auction. 61k miles.

Sellers description:
I bought this car as a project in the mid 1980s. The guy I bought it from told me it was originally from California, then Oklahoma, then Texas. He had many of the parts rechromed . He was going to rebuild it, but never got around to it. When I first got the car, I stripped it down to bare metal (see photos). It was originally ice blue with a blue interior. Other than the trunk pan and the driver's foot well, I found very little rust. I had those parts replaced. There is some Bondo on the roof as well as on the nose. The engine that's in the car has been rebuilt (new bearings). It has about 2000 miles on it. Though I have the original engine, it's not the one that's in the car. You get both engines. They are 3.8 L engines. The car starts, runs, and stops well. The clutch and brake master cylinders were rebuilt as was the clutch slave cylinder. I have not had any problems with shifting or the brakes.

The car is being sold as is. I drive it around the subdivision every couple of weeks so that it just doesn't sit, but for the most part it has been in the garage and has not been on the road for the last 20 years. The interior is new (black) and almost complete. There was a cutout in the fender well for an aftermarket air conditioner. There is a dent on the rocker panel below the driver's door. The doors need to be fitted. It has a stainless steel exhaust. You get all the extra parts that I never got around to reinstalling on the car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
