Ebay item 5/5/16
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-1-FHC-/252378753798
Car has a buy it nwo price of $95,000 for 20 days. Seller tomeboy69, 48k miles.

Sellers description:
This Jaguar E Type Series 1 was owned by my father from the early 80's until 2005 when I inherited it. I've kept it in my garage since. I believe I am the 4th owner of this vehicle. My father purchased it from his friend who I believe was the second owner. My father did all the upkeep himself & only drove it on weekends in the country and for an annual car rally. I've held on to this Jaguar for the sentimental value, but realize that it belongs in the hands of a true enthusiast. It runs very good, starts right up, and for the age I believe it to be in pretty good shape. I am not mechanically inclined, so I had a good friend mechanic get it up and running since it sat for almost 10 years in my garage. A new gas tank was installed, new filters, new fuel pump & new radiator (nice new aluminum radiator from SNG Barratt). The car is a blast to drive, but you have to know how to maintain it to own it. There are the obvious stress cracks in the paint in a few places, and pitting on the chrome, but for a 50 year old car, i believe it's in great shape. I believe it's a great start for someone looking to restore this classic.

The main obvious fault is the clutch housing is cracked open (please see the pictures). It doesn't affect the functionality of the vehicle. In fact I wouldn't have even noticed had I not been crawling around looking for serial numbers.

Chasis Number: 889727
Engine Number RA 4808-9

The title of the car says 1964 but when I look up the engine number on the Jaguar heritage site, it says 1963. The block date is Aug 13, 1963.

Lot #484.1 - This Jaguar XKE Series 1 sat for almost 10 years in a garage and has remained in the same family since it the early '80s. It is powered by a 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. This car is very original with the exception of a few necessary replacements. The seats have been reupholstered and two years ago a new gas tank was installed along with new filters, a new fuel pump and a new aluminum radiator. There are the obvious stress cracks in the original paint in a few places, and some pitting on the original chrome.

On Jan-21-19 at 15:22:25 PST, seller added the following information:

I've updated the pictures based on some questions. Picture of the head showing RA4808-9, Picture of the block showing RA 4808 (the first 8 stamped on the block is really hard to read. I have other pictures where I moved the light and it's a bit more defined, but I'm at the limit for adding pictures.

While I was in the car, I notice that the transport company cracked the drivers side armrest/handle and popped the trim off the inside passenger door. Pictures added.

Finally - I will do my best to answer any questions, but again, if interested, please come see the vehicle.
