I was looking for any information on my car that I am restoring (889465) your car is the nearest number I could find. The car was first reg. in California early 1964 (J64) and I purchased the car in Australia from the importers about 4 years ago.
The car had many parts missing but It is almost fully restored now.
One of the missing items is the hatch latch cover. I have seen the covers that go down to and over the wheel arch, is this the type of cover your car has ( none of the books metion these covers)

Look forward to hearing from you

This car was disassembled in 1983 and the bare chassis was suspended from garage ceiling for some 25 years. Restoration restarted in 2009. Chassis is currently (3/28/20011) in paint shop after bare metal rotisserie restoration. Final drive changed from 3.54 to 3.07. Close ratio gearbox will replace Moss unit. Estimated completion May, 2012.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
