Ebay item 6/9/05 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $5,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $10k.
Sellers description:
This is a really nice early E type coupe. It is the desireable covererd headlamp model and the body is in excellent condition with virtually no rust. Engine is matching numbers, car is 95%+ complete. I do have all suspension, carbs, radiator, pedals, interior, etc. I see all the major components but I cannot promise every little nut and bracket is there. The assemble motor and gearbox in picture are not for this car. The original motor comes with the car but is disassembled for rebuilding. Includes new pistons, valves, timing chains, and some other new parts. Gearbox is complete and assembled. Obvious expendables such as exhaust and wiring are gone. Car is sold with a Bill of Sale only.

I purchased this car from XK's Unlimited.
Currently undergoing restoration.
Originally blue with red interior.
Exported to France in early sixties.
I have registration papers from 67 and a few later years.
Also still have the original '63 black plates.
Waiting on Heritage Certificate.
More to follow...

The export plate contains slightly different distributor information than the heritage certificate:
Royal-Elysees Ch. F. Delecroix
80, Rue de Longchamp - Paris (16e)
Shipping weight 1452K

Just finished most of the rear suspension work. I don't think I want to ever do that job again, at leas not by myself. I also have the short block finished. I still need to buy rear shocks and mount them. Next will be the head, front suspension and at the same time some body work. I bought new floor pans, just because I like welding I guess. The old ones are usable, just too crusty for my liking. The rear wheel arches are a little rotted, and that doesn't look easy. Still have a limited budget so when I don't have money I do manual labor, like body work, sandblasting or zinc plating. Progress is slow but steady. Watched an ALMS race today, good to see Jaguar back on the track, even if not too competitive yet.

Added the shocks and springs to the rear suspension. New pictures available. Went to Watkins Glen for the SVRA vintage races. Quite a few E-types representing the marque. There were five or six daily driver E's in the parking lot as well as a radical E-type dragster. Not sure if I should cry sacrilege or what, it was pretty cool. Even had a parachute. I'll see if I can extract a still image from the movies I took.

Happy New Year 2012! I added many new pictures of the engine, carb, gearbox, and steering rack rebuilds. Today I start on the front suspension plating. The cylinder head is nearly finished, but I have to make a few tappet shims that are a few thousandths below .085. Once the engine assembly is done the entire drivetrain will be complete. Looking at beautiful, finished cars on this site is starting to drive me a little nuts. Have to keep things moving!

Just ordered the new frame rail set. Working on the front suspension plating, and purchasing new front hubs, rotors, bearings, etc. This is getting expensive! Need to get the Bugeye out of the way to get the bodywork started on the rotisserie. The body is sandblasted and ready for new floorpans, and various minor metal repairs before primer. Bonnet is disassembled but no work started yet.

Christmas presents from England! The frame rails arrived and look great. See photos of them being brazed at E-type Fabs in the "metalwork" section. I posted the pics of the test fit-up too, in the "frame" section. I also took the monocoque off of it's cart and put it on the rotisserie so I can finish sandblasting the bottom and do the metal repairs. First order of business is those floor pans I've been putting off.

Hellllllppp! I need an Opalescent Dark Blue paint formula! No longer looking by code, because my local shops cannot produce it from any of the codes found on the internet. If you know of a shop anywhere in the Northeast that is capable of producing it, please advise. I've contacted a few members based on their photos, but no luck yet. Also looking for Opalescent Dark Green for my '65 S-type. Thanks in advance.
